    As always, the motors are made in families. The 2.5 and 3.5 are identical except for the carb. Same for the 4/5/6. Also the 8/9.8. Only difference is the carb. Depending on version, the 9.9 and 15 are similar as well. The new 9.9/15/20e are identical except for flow restrictor and ECU.

    That motot doesn't have a stator. It has an exciter coil and a trigger coil. Diagnose which you might need. 345062220M TRIGGER COIL-NO LONGER AVAIL. 346062210M EXCITER COIL-NO LONGER AVAILABLE Then contact CDI electronics to have yours rewound.

    Unfortunately the Factory service manual is now out of print. The decompressor is a weight on the camshaft. Clogged low speed circuit can be an issue. You would need to buy a leak down tester.     Pumping and squirting shows the accelerator pump is working. It does not indicate there is a good low speed circuit. Only a proper soaking and then a blow out will clear that.
