    Count the poles on your stator to be sure.....Marineengine.com and Crowley both show 2 stators depending on model #.....a 12 and a 20 pole......

    Count the poles on your stator, or look up your stator in a parts diagram to see the number. Really need to know before buying a tach.....

    Yes, one of these......good luck with your test. If you have a tach and it starts reading wrong after installing the VR, try switching the two leads that go to the stator....yellow wires on mine.....shouldn't make any difference but sometimes it does.
