    Force 85 trim

That knurled knob where the green arrow is pointing is where you add oil. Engine must be in full down position when adding or checking. Use SAE 30 non detergent oil only. Add oil until it comes out....let the excess run out, then screw in the knurled knob securely, but not so tight as to...

    Cover over propeller drive shaft?

One of these? It slides on the end of the prop shaft and covers the prop nut. Not used on Force engines I believe.

    Battery(s) for 1979 Chrysler 115 outboard

120 PSI on all cylinders? BTW....replace the impeller with a brand new one, don't just check it. You will already have the LU off anyway. IF the housing is in bad shape might need to get a complete pump kit. Impeller should be changed out every few years anyway.

    Battery(s) for 1979 Chrysler 115 outboard

"I got a boat passed down to me and it hasn’t run for some time." Since this engine is 43 years old and been setting up I would start with the basics.....do a compression and spark test. Change the impeller before running the engine as it is probably in bad shape. That new battery should...

    1987 125 hp throttle slop

Good job....saved yourself a LOT of work for sure. Will keep your Plan A in mind if I ever have the same problem. If you don't mind me asking, what kind of pins did you use after drilling out to 3/32?

1989 Force 85 HP Starter Disengages

Got this NOS kit for $30 and installed it last week. The bendix that was on there was a different kind.....the guy that worked on this motor years ago probably just slapped one on there that he had laying around his shop. Seems to work better now.

1989 Force 85 HP Starter Disengages

Checking on fleabay today....NOS armature in orig box for $24 (shipping included)....NOS brush set in orig packaging for $15 (shipping included). So I could replace the guts in mine for about $40 if I needed to.....and have a better starter than most of the Chinese junk out there.

    1987 125 hp throttle slop

On my 85HP it's not the flywheel that blocks you from lifting the tower shaft out, it's an overhang on the powerhead itself......right under where the distributor mounts....only about a credit card thickness of clearance between the top of the tower shaft and that overhang. Pretty sure I would...

    1987 125 hp throttle slop

"Just remember to leave the big nut on the top so the flywheel doesn't fly away" Never saw that mentioned in any manual or video before.....will be sure to do that the next time I pull a flywheel. (y)

1989 Force 85 HP Starter Disengages

Had similar problem with the bendix dropping out before starting.....put a new kit on the starter (bendix, spring, collar and nut). So far it is not disengaging before starting. I really think it was the spring that was getting weak, not keeping the bendix engaged. The old bendix was a little...

    1987 125 hp throttle slop

Basically the tower shaft has to be lifted high enough to clear the spacer plate in order to remove it without damage. If your flywheel is the only thing preventing you from lifting it high enough then removing the flywheel would be the answer. Not difficult with the proper tools.
