    2003 f40 carburator four stroke.

Okay, answered my own question...so if any one needs this info later, the brass bushing must come out. After heating it 3 times with a heat gun I pulled on it with this tool. Once out, its all down hill from here.

    TACHOMETER ACCURACY

Just cus I have to ask, it's not overrevving from a bad prop or anything? Otherwise, tachs die, rectifiers on you engine go bad and what got me recently...a bad ground on my tach.

    TACHOMETER ACCURACY

You need an old school test prop. The tanks are fairly large and have a vent fan.

    TACHOMETER ACCURACY

You need a test tank and prop to do that accurately.

    2003 f40 carburator four stroke.

Hi, Old fishing friend of mine got this Yamaha 4 stroke tiller from his neighbor. Long story short it sat outside for three years. Compression is 175 or so and the only thing I could really find wrong was 2 of the 3 carbs were locked up. Got them off and eventually got them working. Ordered new...

    Sputtering Johnson V4 90hp - 1994

You can do it by ear....should be high in the barrel and quite a bit less in the lake. As long as it's not slamming into gear when shifting.

    Sputtering Johnson V4 90hp - 1994

What are you idling at in your driveway rpm wise? Throat of the carb is grabbing some of your carb cleaner...even if the bowl had a seal problem it would just leak. 1100 out of the water Post compression numbers. Idles probably to low.

80's OMC Controls - Trim Switch

You might be right....there used to be many of those online that are the inexpensive. I'll do some more digging. Your motor has the Deutsch connectors right?

Well if your "jonesing" for fish...and their biting, no price is to much.

1988 Johnson 70hp control box removal

The shifter cable moves first before throttle cable moves. Typically it's easy to determine before you put it back on the engine side.

    Johnson won't start

Buy a used (bad powerhead) parts motor. Should be lots around. Many years and hp ranges have them.

    1987 Johnson 70Hp 2 stroke

You said sometimes it starts.....you showed us when it won't start, show us when it does. Otherwise put a little fuel in each hole and see if it roars for a second, otherwise I'd start looking at electrical. Rule out whether it's fuel or not.

I bet she was a lot of fun with many fond memories!

1981 35hp evinrude. What to do next.

Electric start typically has an electric choke, must be a tiller. If you have any sparks you should fix that. Carb should be 1 1/2 turns out from lightly seated. Any more than a quarter turn either way typically means something's wrong.
