    Showing my Tri-axle Trailer some TLC . . .

2 wheels done . . . 4 more to go. I am also checking the bearings and adjusting as needed. They look OK . . . So far, one wheel was a little tight and the other was a little loose.

    Showing my Tri-axle Trailer some TLC . . .

We are going to be traveling quite a bit (more than a wee bit) this Fall, so the boat will probably come out in Late-September - Early-October. . . who knows. That is why I have been trying to squeeze this work on the trailer in. The fact that the calipers were not seized, makes things a whole...

    Showing my Tri-axle Trailer some TLC . . .

The paint and the brake pads arrived . . . Just waiting on a few more things. . . I got the rust reformer on the remaining 4 calipers and will give them a top-coat (silver) in the AM. but . . . The Admiral wants to go out on the boat, so who am I to argue . . . :ROFLMAO:

I've got my repair process line going . . . Remove/inspect/Clean-up (left) Rust Reformer (right) Silver topcoat (center) . Here are the disc rotors . . . . 6 on 5.5" The angle grinder is not putting enough friction/torque on the rotor to spin the wheel with any certainty. I've got some...

Mercruiser 4.5l low vacuum, WOT 4350 and higher fuel consumption

Also the throttle body is a single field replace-able unit (pricey), but it has an internal actuator (motor) that actually opens the throttle per the Arb. TPS value. I am wondering if the full movement of the throttle plate can be / has been verified (ignition on, engine not running, throttle...

Mercruiser 4.5l low vacuum, WOT 4350 and higher fuel consumption

I have a bunch of runs on my 6.2L which is the bigger brother of the 4.5L, so I can cross-check some of the data from a behavioral aspect.

Mercruiser 4.5l low vacuum, WOT 4350 and higher fuel consumption

The range for WOT RPM is 4800-5200, so 5,000 is a good target. Are we at altitude? MIL sitting in the back? :ROFLMAO:

Mercruiser 4.5l low vacuum, WOT 4350 and higher fuel consumption

A couple things I noticed so far . . . Not saying those are the issues, but . . . TPS at idle is 4% . . . Seems high, but maybe it is normal for the 4.5L Engine is reaching 4500 RPM as per the later run on August 4th. Still wanting to see a run in throttle increments to see where things...

Mercruiser 4.5l low vacuum, WOT 4350 and higher fuel consumption

Just trying to catch up on this thread . . . sorry but I have not read through every post . . . Back story is . . . New to the OP boat/engine, prior performance numbers unknown (?) 2016 Engine, has some sort of warranty history and then offered out in 2018. Engine won't go over 4,350 RPM...

Mercruiser 4.5l low vacuum, WOT 4350 and higher fuel consumption

@damo79 . . . I took a quick look at the files, and will look more in the AM. One question . . . the files tend to show the TPS1/2 and arbitrated TPS maxing out briefly, but then come down. Are you reducing the throttle or is the engine deciding to do that itself? If you can / need to, make...

    Showing my Tri-axle Trailer some TLC . . .

Now that my boat is pretty well squared away, I turned my focus to the trailer. It has disc brakes on all 6 wheels, but they have not really worked in a long time. I figured the calipers may be seized, but they are actually OK . . . they retract easily. It looks to be that the pads were so...

Mercruiser 4.5l low vacuum, WOT 4350 and higher fuel consumption

Now that I am an outboard guy, my knowledge on the Mercruiser front is quickly fading . . . but just taking a look at the data, a thought that came to mind was the throttle plate. (loose, linkage, something.)
