FWIW - I found this video fairly interesting as it discusses the subtle differences in what it takes to climb the 'wealth ladder' into retirement.

    safe?

FWIW - Tandem trailers with 14" wheels tend to be of lower capacity. For example, on the Loadrite website trailers with 14" wheels run between 4,200 and 5,800 lbs. capacity.

    Retirement Financial Planing

This being a boating website/forum, I think we need to factor in boats and boating into our retirement planning. Else, what would be the point of retiring??? The thing is, once you get close to retirement age, there is not much time/room for planning . . . what you see is what you got.

    White gelcoat restoration

There is a product called Re-Gel, which I believe is a 2-part product that cures like gelcoat. Basically a clear coat. There are some lesser products such as PoliGlow, which I have used in the past, but they are more temporary solutions that need re-application. All of these approaches...

    320 Sea Ray

Wide load is not a big deal once you know the red tape. I've been 'wide-loading' it for the past 5 years. I think most states are anything over 8'6" (102") . . . Even my trailer is over the 'limit', 'cuz it measures about 108" wide.

    Retirement Financial Planing

Not a thing for once you retire (but maybe) . . . I never seemed to have any money until I became debt-free. Probably a good piece of advice for financial planning . . . (YMMV)

    320 Sea Ray

The challenge may be that you are looking at relatively old boats, and there will be maintenance items. So, expect to be spending some money once you get a boat, as you will discover things that need attention. It may come down to a matter of picking your imperfections.

    Thinking of getting a sailboat . . .

I am going to need a shelter for the boat to keep it out of the elements . . . After looking online at various temporary shelters and reading the reviews (not so good) and seeing the customer photos (collapsed), I decided I'll make something myself, which will be similar $$$ as the ones you can...

    320 Sea Ray

It seems like you are making a career of buying a boat. . . So, the u-joints might be bad and you want gimbal bearings and bellows to go along with it. It might work, but don't be surprised if it does not. Work out a number and if all else looks OK, seal the deal.

    Retirement Financial Planing

I'm not sure converting IRA to Roth at a late stage in life is all that worthwhile, given the one-time tax hit. Makes good sense earlier on since the money has plenty of time to grow. Like you @alldodge I am 70 years young, as are a few other regulars on the forums. About 10 years ago, I...
