One more question on this topic....with cap off I could see gear oil up top...this morning I couldn't...it's coming out from behind the prop...never has had a leak..can't imagine having top cap off would make oil flow out

The square holes look just like an empty void kinda deal...reason I pulled cap is there was a water trickle coming out of the front between cap and outdrive...am I to find a hole in those cavities.

I've dug out all the corrosion from in there and see nothing important...when I took the top off I only saw 1 o ring but no gasket...is there supposed to be one

There isn't one now so it won't happen again that's for sure

Well it could gave been way worse..paying 200 bucks for gaskets is fine with me lol...

It a small piece of something that was jammed up until we flipped engine over and then it spun freely as it should...and that fell out. Not sure we're it came from or why but they figure it looks like the nit that holds the aircleaner stud...they are eating the labour on piston and head and...

Well here's the update after being at machine shop

He says it's all corroded and sputters...I suppose someone told him coil

A friend has asked me to find out what ignition coil he needs ohm wise. From what says it's canister style...any suggestions

Update....engine builder seems a bit baffled as to how it just stopped with no prelude to the problem. He looked at all my pictures and in the spark plug and exhaist Manny holes...checked plugs...he says it all looks normal...it's coming apart Tuesday with me there

I'm hauling boat there Friday and there going to pick engine out...I also thought of being there when the checked it out.

I'm awaiting the call from engine builder...now from the pictures I've posted of valves and sparkplugs in your opinions would lean for short period of time cause this to lock up...I just want to cover my bases

I'm scared as to were it's headed lol...hopefully flawless warranty.

I have and it will be going back to their shop...I haven't drained oil or done anything to the core or its parts so there can't be a warranty issue

I got it to my tdc mark and turned crank clock wise and it doesn't even get back to my marks

The rest are all the same...it seems to lock up right as number 8 hits top of stroke
