    My boat is "One2Many" :ROFLMAO:

Anyone ever convert their 401k to an IRA?

Rollover . . . rollover. . . so they all rolled over and one fell out. (sorry for the singing . . .:ROFLMAO: ) I believe you are asking about a 'Rollover' . . . I have rolled-over my 401K's from former employers into an IRA several times. Also converted some after-tax money into a Roth...

    Vinyl Wrap

A friend of mine (same boat as me) had vinyl wrap done on his boat. Looks awesome. Totally changed the look of the boat for the better. Used to be all white hull with brown/beige seating. @KJM If the current gelcoat is not smooth, there may be an issue of getting the wrap to adhere. You...

    I/O (Sterndrive) Conversion to Outboards

I've listed my CY 338 for sale in a couple of places . . . Still got to do a couple repairs. As a final improvement project, I installed the TV that I had sitting in the closet for the past 3 years. :ROFLMAO:

    I/O (Sterndrive) Conversion to Outboards

OB's are not going to be 'easy street' by any means, after all it is still a boat. More boats are coming out with decent swim platform designs around outboards, whereas 10 years ago it was pretty much non-existent. For me it has the following advantages: no anti-fouling on the lower unit . ...

    I/O (Sterndrive) Conversion to Outboards

Quick Update . . . I have not gotten the local shop to respond to my inquiry about a OB conversion, so maybe the easiest thing is going to be the sell/buy route. The Admiral nixed the more fishing style boats, so we are down to Sea Ray and Regal, and maybe the Boston Whaler as the likely...

2016 Merc 8.2 low voltage drop Kills engine

No 'Both' battery switch position on these boats and many like it. Just simple on/off for each battery bank.

2016 Merc 8.2 low voltage drop Kills engine

@searay12950 I have the 2016 6.2L engines and went through similar voltage issues a couple of years back as well as earlier this year. I have the Diacom computer software for trouble shooting . . . sometimes trouble-making :ROFLMAO: Anyway . . . What I learned is that the 'system voltage'...

Mercury Demand, Demand Linear, Demand Guardian

Following this thread with great interest. Does this apply to I/O engines? I rarely trim up, because at my typical cruising speed (27-30 mph), the boat tends to slow down with any more than the slightest amount of upward trim. With any amount of waves, which is normal for my area, all bets are...

    Water Pressure Sensor . . .

It looks like the sensor is now reading low, so it will be on the replacement list for the off season. Our boat outing yesterday got cut short because the toilet 🚽 broke. It needs a new macerator pump. The pump is a bit pricey, but on its way.

    I/O (Sterndrive) Conversion to Outboards

Hi @Lou C Did your brother have to take a bath on the re-sale value of the I/O? or was it OK? I think I/O's are quite fine for the lakes, but every year there are fewer in the ocean. In my harbor, out of approximately 100 boats, only about 5-6 are I/O's . . . in the past it was more like...

    I/O (Sterndrive) Conversion to Outboards

Quick Update . . . the Admiral wants to get an estimate of what it would cost to have a conversion of your current boat done. there are a couple boat yards in my area that do that sort of work. So, we'll see. My guess is $100K+ . . .

Maybe my turn for new boat time

    The nightmare continues . . . :( There now is a companion thread to yours . . . "Why I do not have new boats" : https://forums.iboats.com/threads/why-i-do-not-have-new-boats.774445/

Why I do not have new boats.

I buy used boats, because I don't have enough $$$ to buy new in the range of what I want. Additionally, buying used you get to see the boat's 'weaknesses' since someone has used it for a while. Plus, you are not bothered by the warranty stuff, which boat companies never seem to honor. So, it...

When do you pull your freshwater boat?

@cyclops222 The link below is one 'test' of the empty tank theory, showing no water condensation. I wonder if you have links to other tests? https://marinehowto.com/does-an-empty-marine-fuel-tank-condensate/

When do you pull your freshwater boat?

Actually, I off load the fuel (until I get bubbles), then add back some of the fogging cocktail to do the winterization. Then what little is left stays the winter.

When do you pull your freshwater boat?

My boat is moored. I take it out any time between mid-September and mid-October, depending on my travel schedule, hurricanes, etc. Freezing temperatures typically are not until November. I usually off-load the fuel and use it in the vehicles.

1997 7.4 MPI engine stalls on quick acceleration

MPI engines would require the computer diagnostics in order to troubleshoot. Otherwise, you will be throwing parts at it. Have you checked the basics, like timing, temperature? Post the serial number of the engine, as that helps with specifics. Can you reach the spec RPM at WOT? ( which is...

Cheap floor and foam replacement for weekend.

Not the best of plans, and probably will not work out for you. If you want to get rid of some of the water weight and plan for the proper rebuild next year, you could try to suck the water out of the foam filled compartments as an initial step. (if they are in fact holding water) Since we...
