    1985 50HP 4-cylinder power loss

Humm... Okay so Doug is addressing the running issue. Surprised he's not concerned with the low compression reading.

    1985 50HP 4-cylinder power loss

A 10psi increase from dry to wet shows just a minute compression loss usually do to ring to cylinder sealing. A 60psi drop/difference when first tested is a major concern I would have. That would equate to a noticeable loss of power. Could you of had 2 faulty compression testers? Possible if...

Fitting my Bunks to my boat

I would believe you are correct in your theory. Providing full support under the transom where the weight is from the motor and outdrive is a must. I have no clue though how much weight would be hanging at 14" off the outer bunks, might be a concern?? Forgive my ignorance but in the 6 photo's...

Trailer bearings wear out ultra quickly.

Good thing you're buying new axles! Both bearing surfaces are really trashed and the rest of the axle looks really bad.

    Severe Empty Trailer Bounce

It is common for just about "all" trailer to bounce and ride rough when empty. A few things that I'm aware of doing to help the situation: Make sure the tires are properly balanced, just like high speed balancing car/truck tires. When the trailer has no load, lower the air pressure to the...

Weight distribution on trailer bunks and rollers?

Four under the hull with a roller on the winch shaft. I have to try and raise that one since it's under the bow winch cleat. Beside the roller that was originally under the transom the two in the middle had way to much daylight between them and the keel. So I'm planning on refreshing and...

Weight distribution on trailer bunks and rollers?

Trailer info in my signature. Yes the center rollers are mounted to the center beam of the trailer. Can't launch the boat as the trailer & boat are not registered yet (still lot's of work to do on boat) and the water is far away. Humm... plus right now my truck has an expired inspection sticker...

    Car Tires ok?

😳 ST Load Range E is rated at 2,830 pounds at 80 psi x 4 = 11,302 pounds. LT Load Range E is rated at 3,195 pounds at 80 psi x 4 = 12,780 pounds. But each make and model can vary regarding MAX weight and air pressure.

Weight distribution on trailer bunks and rollers?

I was thinking that but if it doesn't have much weight on it how is it really going to guide the keel straight in? Maybe I'm just over thinking it?

Weight distribution on trailer bunks and rollers?

Silly question... The previous owner didn't have the trailer bow roller setup correctly so after I towed it home I noticed the transom of the boat had slid forward and the keel rolled forward of the roller and dropped down below it. All the weight is now resting on the bunks. I have removed the...

    Car Tires ok?

I can only go by what my dad used to do while I was growing up. He had camper trailers for many years. He first replaced the tires with trailer tires only to find they didn't last as long as he was hoping for especially for the cost. Then he tried car tires and didn't get all the way home when...

2004 Glastron GX185 fishing seat pedestals- Need Assistance

The under seat mounts are pretty much a standardized bolt pattern. If you can get an exact diameter and where the post mounts would make searching for replacement parts much easier.
