That paint looks sooo good. You did a really good job on it. If you need anything I'm just down the road from you. I work in a fab shop of sorts, I run the CNC/manual machining departments.

Welding, casting, machining I've read all the books! Actually I have some skills with my hands too. I've worked in 5 foundries, umpteen machine shops, a plastics factory and now an Orthopedic Appliance Manufacturer.

If you need something just holler. I can get material through work too, aluminum sheet, stainless, titanium.......... That goes for the rest of you tinheads too.

This was a serious hearfelt response to assist a fellow Starcrafter. I wasn't kidding I was offering my help and any expertise I may have that could be used for someone else's good. That and just trying to make a friend, which by the way isn't easy for me.

Maybe I could design a prosthetic poop-deck for the B-Ticket, looks like she could use it.:D JK

Easy Don, all in jest I'm sure, heck I was afraid to ask for a hand, from your post I could almost picture one coming in the mail LOL.

I really appreciate your offer, one can never have too many friends and contacts thats for sure! If you ever get over this way, shoot me a pm and I'll give ya my address...maybe sometime this summer we could get together and scare some fish into the cooler. I see you posting over at LSCN, I'm a member there too, but I don't post much, too many looking to nitpick/critque everything it seems{although it's been getting better}. Nice having the local fishing reports though.

Bet Kev needed a washdown pump more than a poop deck {I know I would of} :)

Back to today.....got the first coat of white on the hull & second coat on the bottom, gonna give her a few days to set and put her back on the trailer to finish the painting. Got a few runs/sags and figured it would visually be a little easier with it upright, well that's my story & I'm sticking to it :p tired of no room in this box of a yard.

Did a little more of the Imperial bits & pieces, got a fella coming up tomorrow from Ohio to give her a once over, gonna miss her after all this work, hopefully she'll go to someone who can finish her up and enjoy her....hey at least they can enjoy the fact that someone did all the itchies for them :D

Um, you totally forgot to post pictures of today's paint work. Or, you did that on purpose which is just being mean to the rest of us.

Rock on!

Looks great Kenny. I see the bodywork on the front bow paid off big time, can't even see it:D Your boat looks just like mine did a week ago except your lines look straighter. Feels good to have paint on it, don't it? Keep going my friend. Dale

Thanks Dale, it sure does, sloppy as it got today, still feels great.

Awww the heck with it I say, time to go fishing...always looking for a reason to tinker so I'll just add this to the 'soon maybe possibly tomorrow' list :D ...Now if the body work was pristine I'd take a different stance on it, but me and sum stump jumpin got priorities for this year...jacked myself all last year fiddlin with the Imp, not gonna make that mistake this year...the freezers been empty way too long.

Re: 1961 Starcraft - 'The whole' story

I kid a lot, sometimes too much. I am sincere about the help though. I don't know it all but I've got a few skills. Working at a fab shop I have opportunities other guys don't. I love my job, I get to make things all day. In between cups of coffee.:D

LSCN (fishing forum for Lake St. Clair) can be a real hornets nest. I can take it and give it. I try to play nice with everybody over there. Some of those guys are real hardcore fisherman. I do like the reports, I know when everything is happening on the lake.

I will start a resto thread here in a few days. Your's and CBK and EZ's are gonna be my inspiration and guide. I'll tuck in behind y'all and bump draft. There's a funny joke there about getting sideways and going into the ...... naw I won't go there. Glad the damage was light Kev.

Take care all.

Don

Looks good Kenny. I definitely had my share of issues with runs on mine. Even when I was watching for them like a hawk!! I had a pretty bad one when everything almost done that I had to completely sand down. It's the price you pay for nicely flowing paint.

Pretty sweet there Ken, I like the paint and color combo. I'm going to use that citrus based stripper when I do the paint on mine. looks like it worked very well.
