Re: 1961 Starcraft - 'The whole' story
Whoa, look whats rolled down the driveway, looking all ready to go...
But alas, another case of mistaken intentions...
got the bearings checked out, one spindle needed a quick swipe with some emery cloth to erase some surface rust, bearings and races were in good shape{surprise} repacked the bearings, slapped it all back together and topped it off grease-wise. No luck moving the fenders around, they'll need replacing or some McGyvering with help from a welder.
My carb problems from the other day, were due to the top carb float was out of wack a tad, piece of cake. Kill switch worked without frying anything, so maybe I'm getting better at wiring{maybe lol}.
Hopefully Sunday she will get tested, I picked up a side job from a neighbor...about a month ago I gave her a price to prep and paint her garage, she laughed and said her & her friends could do it for half that...this afternoon she came over tail between her legs and asked if I would be interested in finishing, said it was much more work than she figured and her friends gave up after the first day..lol, I told her sure for the same price I originally bid it at...she reluctantly agreed
...they have already scrapped and primed the whole thing...life smiles upon me once again.
So if this great weather holds up, a couple of coats on the walls and trim should give me some playing money...some I said, I'm still married ya know
Wish me luck & hope you all have a great weekend!
