Re: 1964 Starcraft Jet - Rebuild
Alrighty Gents... a pictoral update for your viewing pleasure....
So got rolling on the getting the foam in today. Due to my pea sized brain, I immediately ran into 2 issues:
1. The Z channel I had made up that increased in height from 2" to 9" in a linear fashion should have gone from 2" to 6" (only measured once....) and...
2. The Z channel should not have increased in a linear fashion for the last 5 1/2 feet of the boat!
So... from just under the dash backwards it goes from 6" down to approx. 2 3/4" over 6 feet. Then it goes from 3 inches to 2 inches for the next 6 feet --- there is about a 6" overlap. So... Ya... goofed.
However.... I did manage to redeam myself! So I had 2 6 foot sections. One of the sections actually worked quite well:
So I riveted it in place. Then I marked up the oversized piece...
So then I had to build a brake to bend it... hmmm... well the brake was more "woodshed" quality then shop quality. Man I wish I had the materials to build it properly! Any suggestions for future would be great!!!
So here is the woodshed quality brake...
More in next thread...
