Hi everyone I really like everyone's projects and fine Starcraft's. I work and live in Beautiful Comox BC Canada close to unbelievable salmon fishing and many lakes to explore. I'd like to share our families Starcraft. I've replaced her top a few years back and added a 9.9 Honda kicker for the quiet lake trolls. It has a two burner stove, ice box, sink, electric down riggers, sounder, etc and lots of room to move around. The 120hp 153 chev pushes her about 25-28 mph up on plane. This boat has been in the family since new, I brought her to the coast in 2003 from Saskatchewan where she sat in the shed at our family farm for many years. I've have many more photo's and keep her in top shape... kennyo

As before, NICE SC! And absolutely great to be in the family since new. Congrats.

Poke around the SC forum, pin your location on the Starmada member's map (there's a thread near the top of the SC forum), be sure to check out the 2013 Splash of the Year nominees, and Vote for your favorite boat/builder's effort.

Again, welcome to iboats, SC tin division.

Nice, nice tinny, Kenny. Wish all owners kept family heirlooms up like you and the family have. Welcome to the Starmada.

you mention you have a kicker - how do you steer it?

Re: 1968 22' Starcraft

I fabricated a stainless plate for the top of the out-drive, a bracket for the kicker leg, and used air-hose quick disconnects attached to stainless threaded rod. I then purchased a telescoping steering arm from the local marine shop, added the male air-hose pieces to the steering arm and it works perfect. I don't have it connected in this pic but I can take a picture of the arm if you want. When trolling I leave the main motor down to help rudder the boat while the Honda is running. I start the main motor for quick turns.

Sure have had trouble uploading pictures here so far, anyone know what the trick is? I had a few to put up to answer your post but only got the one in... a little frustrating.

Nice work there K! You can get yourself a photobucket account, upload your pictures there and copy the img source from photobucket to your reply here... a lot of folks are using that as a method of displaying full sized pic's.

Use photobucket, and cut/paste the IMG code under/beside each photo

The pix get posted IN your post, rather then as attachments that have to be opened:

and make sure you un-check the little box that asks about referencing locally.

OK - your descriptions sound like the one I can order and attach when I get my bracket/kicker mounts. Can I ask what you have in it? The one i'm looking at is about $250.

This is what's called an EZ Steer. It Telescopes, once you have your distance between motors you tighten up the set screws. I have added the float so it doesn't go to the bottom...

Thanks for the info about photo bucket... seems to work better..

Redneck Joe, I think I only paid $50 for this piece, it's stainless, but maybe the phone number on it will help...

Sorry all for so many pictures.I got carried away....

A word of warning, Kenny - You can't post too many pictures. It's Starmada rule # 3 or is it #14? I know it's one of the rules! :joyous:
