Thanks Wood. Sewing is the only way to get that nice fit.

Re: 1968 Glassmaster Runabout

Got the logos painted last weekend and then on the boat Thursday night:

I painted the the same as the cap.

Just need to try to get the white rub-rail cleaned up.

Also got an arm bolted to the storage building for getting the motor on the boat:

I am going to try to get the motor on and bottom bolt holes marked out. Then pull the motor off and epoxy the inside of the holes to seal up and exposed wood in the transom core so if any water get's inn there, the wood will be protected.

I'll post more tomorrow if I get this done.

Hello storm,
I have been following along your restoration since shortly after I began mine, about a month or two after you started...since we were both noobs at the time, and recieving such great advice and guidance from folks like wood and oops and all the others who have helped along the way, I pretty much just lurked in the background and kept getting great ideas and tons of help from everything you have done...Thanks!
I finally decided to show my ugly mug here and not only thank you for having taken the time to share this experience with all of us, but offer you some serious Kudos and High Fives for the outstanding work you have done on this boat...
I am very happy to see that you are getting so close to completion and have a real good feeling that you and your awesome crew are going to really enjoy this ride for many years to come.
I hope your back is healing well and I'll be anxiously awaiting the soon to be here finale.
Best regards,
Gus

Yup, we're closing in TC :)

Thanks for following Gus and glad you have been able to get some ideas from what I have done. I have also been able to get many good tips from all the different threads on this forum :joyous:

I hear ya on Wood and Oops. I would not be where I am without their guidance and knowledge!

Now that the motor is on, I can start working on running the steering cable and installing the remote control for the ol' Johnson :)

Hi Everyone,

Got a few more things done.

Drilled another smaller hole in the splashwell for the cables to the motor:

The larger aft hole will be for the steering cable.

Also picked up some inkjet sticker paper and printed a graphic I did up for my remote control box:

I think it came out not bad.

Well that's it for now.

Just used my HP Inkjet Color all in one printer/copier and scanner. You just want to make sure you get the sticker paper for inkjet printers (if that is what you have).

I found the Johnson logo online in vector format. Brought it into GIMP, added a transparent layer and used a font I liked for the "Hydro-Electric Drive" part.

Nice. Great job on the labels.

Thanks TC!

Re: 1968 Glassmaster Runabout

Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to give a quick update for anyone that has been following.

I have finally come to the realization that the splash will not be happening this year due to life and finances (or lack there of). :blue:

The back surgery, reduction in pay and bills has been a much bigger hit than I thought of. :faint2:

I do have a few things that I will be doing as I already have what I need (for those tasks) so there will be a few updates at least in the coming months before next spring.

Thanks for all the help along the way and following my journey. :)

Peace -Ryan

Isn't it funny how life sometimes gets in the way. But hey, you have a lot to look forward to. The boat is looking great and it will be there when you get back at it. You have most of the work done. It's all gravy now buddy.
