Hey Azlo,
Looks like you have been making some great progress while I've been gone. It's going to take a while for me to catch up on everyones progress.
The transom looks great.

I am finally done with the floor.

Though it did not come out like I want it, it will suffice for now.

MAH006144.jpg

I think i needed to get higher quality plywood.

You can see the crevices. Oh well it will do for now. Moving on.
The only thing I liked were my bolts

they look good.

The deck looks good dude. Mine got over smoothed out with the smooth coat. It looked awesome with the second textured but would have been impossible to get clean...

PS. Your transom looks like furniture...sweet finish.

You know what, I think your right. I mean with the beating of fish and everything else happening on the floor is not going to matter much. Alright.

Progress. AFter shaping the transom I realised that previous transom had oval opening at the top of the transom hole. Did some searching as to why there are there for and realised that its for the steering shaft. SO went ahead & used this tool to create the oval shape.

Close enough.

After that i had to do what i was delaying and that to cut my aluminum. I dread it but in order for this to work It had to be done.

I was only thinking of your worries about your drive holes ( I assumed thats what you were thinking about ) .. I didnt think there were that many holes for your drive mount. I am sorry if I saw your pics wrong. I of cource know that the rest of the holes in your transom is for eyes and etc.. Im not a Retard.. ;)

It's actually YD. .. Not DY ..

YD.

PS. other then that I think your doing a good job man..but If I was coating a trans that looks like a table top..eek.. I would have used some peely ply. Or your going to have to grind that shiny for prep :)

PSS. Im now out of this one for personal reasons others cant see anymore ( thank you BVT ).

Its the way that some people come across, with an attitude. People ask for help and they get reamed and criticised for it, that in my book sir is not a gentlemen nor a leader. If you are a man of high experience that is very much respected,,, until you think your way is the only way and theres is no other way. If that is your way, to criticise others then be it. Then you will lack respect from people as it has been seen in other of your posts. I dont ever criticise people no matter their level of dedication, education but some people draw the line. With that said. I apologize to my viewers for this non educational episode, I will now leave this alone and im glad that my posts are clean again. (thank you god).

Ok,, I started painting the transom when i realised that i havent started on the transom shim plate. Went to HD and a 1/2" birch plywood 30x48.

Got the jigsaw
and cut to fit. Drilled the hole and then epoxied.

Will wait to dry & then repaint. Cant wait. I didnt cut to the original size. Having a little larger piece i would think it would make the transom stronger.

Re: 1968 Holiday Restoration w/pics

Thanks jasoutside. Thats my theory & Im sticking with it. Had to use water color little brushes to get in the bolt holes. That was a pain to do them all. But an hour a day this week did the trick. Will post pics soon fellas.
