I like that curve design for your switches man, that'll be cool:cool::cool:

Man, your not kidding about the corners being hard on vinyl. I mean Im sweating stretching this thing. It had bumps that I need stretched out. Even with the heat gun. SO I had to redo it again.

Dude I just saw you totally rebuild a blown out engine. There is no way this vinyl can take you. You are the man, make sure it knows that!

Ok after beating the crap out of this thing it finally came gave in. This is how it went.
I set my wooden dash to cut the excess of the vinyl. Now this vinyl comes with 1/4 foam already glued to it. I think it will give it a little plush but It was harder to handle.

Folded then over the dash & then cut.

Once I had the right amount I started to staple the vinyl to the bottom part.

MAH009753.jpg

Applied glue to the surfaces.

Folded the vinyl over the other half. Heres the part were u have to be stretching. The vinyl forms better with heat. Mine had little little line lifts from were it was packaged. SO stretching was the key. I mean all 4 ways.

SO after stretching and stapling.... well you look for yourself.

Looks good eh. Now i will cut the holes for the gauges & the other stuff. In the end I noticed u have to have your skill for those corners. I mean I was folding , gluing and then stapling! All while holding the corner tight with a stretch, hell I almost stapled my self. So I took a break and thought things over and it worked out. Plan how u going to handle it I guess.

Very nice work, I've been thinking about how to cover my dash and that looks great:)

If you have the entire engine rebuild recorded...that would make a very educational archive right there.

The best style to have is no style at all. Keep up the nice work Azlo, can't wait to see all the sweet gauges installed:D

Aright, I didnt post pics last night because I wanted to install the switches. I believe in first impressions but as always I had problems. But this is how far I got. I still need to install 4 more switches but could not installed them because the threaded area was not long enough. the one u see have been forced. So now I have to look for longer switches.
