Re: 1973 Ozark Tri Hull - Deck Rebuild
hey guys quick question waxed or unwaxed resin?
hey guys quick question waxed or unwaxed resin?
It looks like that hull is cored from those last pics, or is it just my failing eyesight?
The forward portion where the lip from the old floor stops it appears to be cored with wood underneath that layer of glass you say is coming up.
It's probably balsa and rotten. Take a close up and post it.
I got my safety equipment yesterday (mask and goggles) so hopefully I will be ready to do some grinding this weekend. Depending on the weather that is...
Hey glnbnz - I appreciate you stopping by my thread, and just want to pop in say hi and that you have a very cool boat... I really like the color and the classic white vinyl inside... Going to have a classy little tri-hull when your done.
Hang in there and enjoy the ride....
Just came accross your thread. I like the lines of that boat and the light blue is cool to. Did you ever get a closer look at what the others thought might be a balsa core or the like? I found something similiar in my rebuild and it's got my head turning.
Looks to me like the whole area forward of where the lip from the old deck is sticking out is cored.
Not recommended. Lot's heavier than wood. Poly and Epoxy won't bond to it. Has no structural integrity for stringers. Great for what it's intended for but not for boat building.
You can see this is where the hull has been fixed and my question is, since I have the deck out, now would be the time to repair this place if I need to. What do you think I need to do about this area?
