Re: 1978 Starcraft Holiday 18 Rebirth

Last night I got the two 3/4" transom pieces cut out and made an epoxy sandwich. Just got the clamps off and hope to get a coat of epoxy on it yet tonight.

Re: 1978 Starcraft Holiday 18 Rebirth

I better get a new post up before Im kicked out of the Starmada...... been slacking lately and thinking too much about deer season. So here is my post for Sept.

Pretty much been picking away at lots of small stuff lately so nothing really exciting to show.

Mounted up the bow and stern lights. Also put an anchor roller on the nose, wanted something I could manage the anchor with and not have to crawl out on the bow, prolly not the best looking thing but its functional. My bulb was burned out in my stern light so instead of getting a new bulb for it I managed to trim down one of my extra LED strips and wired it up inside there, worked out great.

Got the transom in, spashwell drains, the rear corner pieces and that top transom trim done.

Seats are mounted on the bases now and rebuilt that step piece that goes between the dash pods.

Installed my tilt and trim on the motor, that is going to be sooooo nice to have.

Great to see an update Charlie!

I was thinking you had this boat wrapped up and were floating somewhere:)

Great looking boat with the upgrades. The deck looks nice enough to sleep on. Just need a camper top and it'll be some all night fishing.

I'm digging the paint spraying myself compared to rolling after doing the trailer.

What kind of anchor roller did you do...

PS. The led light upgrade is a great idea.

Re: 1978 Starcraft Holiday 18 Rebirth

Thought I'd stop in for an update. Haven't made much progress since my last post. Hunting season is in full swing so until next spring the old girl is all wrapped up for its winters nap
Ill still stop in and check in on you fair weather boaters.

My first buck with a bow opening weekend. And yes..... that would be my new Starmada hat covering my fat melon.

That kinda looks like a Matthews Switchback you are shooting there? Or, XT? I have the XT myself but it stayed in the case this year, bummer. Fall of 12 it'll come back out.:)

That would be my trusty old Bowtech Pro 40.

Ah, Bowtech, gotcha.

I guess I automatically assumed a Starcraft guy would also be a Matthews guy.

LOL..... See I was thinking, that Jason is a smart guy, what's he shooting a Mathews for? Figured you found it in the woods after some other hunter tomahawked it out of his tree in frustration. :p:D

HA!:D

Well...

I'd talk trash about that Bowtech you have there but seeing as you have a whitetail laying at your feet and I won't be sitting in a treestand for another year yet, I'll not be going there.

If I did I'd comment something like...

"Only loser glass boat guys own crappy Bowtech's".

But, like I said, I'm not going there.

Cheers Man:D
