Re: 1979 Imperial

Hey gang,

Well the bottom is finished!

Keel guard and scuff plate is installed! I taped off where the placement was going to be, sanded with 120 grit to remove orange peel so I had a good bond. Acetone rinse, then Keel guard primer, wait 5 min, and start application process. A helper would have been great... The keel guard wouldn't stay balanced, and kept sliding off. So I removed the entire center adhesive cover and stuck that first, instead of doing 2' sections at a time. Once this is stuck to the hull, aint no gettin it off! I had a slight alignment issue, but whatever. I need to roll, get this flipped tonight or tomorrow, and start stringers, as my fishing trip in September is fast approaching! Plus I'm sure everyone is getting as sick as I am of seeing the bottom of JL2!

Pics out in the sun!

Looking great Bear. Maybe I missed it, but where did you find the casters for your cradle? I know they aren't cheap and I'm looking to build a cradle for mine this winter.
Thanks,
Neil
