Re: 1980 Sea Nymph SS 165 Rebuild

I'm not so sure that would work, you know...half the stuff on your boat came from a glasser :D

Hmmm....

Sea Nymph: Powered by the heart of a glasser

Does have kind of a nice 'ring' to it, now doesn't it......:D

If memory serves, that seems to be kind of a theme around this boatyard ;)

I did, though I think all the satellites were way off today because I was obviously moving at mach 7:rolleyes:

That explains the BOOM's I was hearing yesterday! Congrat from the west JAS.:D

I like the swooshed one as well. If you really think the color will bother you and as you said you do not want to do all the taping, just repaint the cover. It will make the decals less noticeable (although you will be the only one to notice) and if anyone even notices the cover a different color, it will just look like normal aging.

Also, like the matte on the window frames better than the gloss. Good call.

My eyebrows did get a little singed fro the heat, I hope they grow back:D

Nice man, good idea! Now lets see if anybody local has that Evinrude paint, hmmmm....

If someone mentions the color difference, tell them it is an artistic design element and if they can't appreciate it, they have no taste.

Course, I never been accused of having any taste, except in my choice of wife and boat.

If you paint the gasket black, it will be extremely difficult to tell the 2 shades are different. I think Napa's carry some of the OB paint, or a larger boat/marina store.

Right on George! Hey, your wife seems to have somewhat mediocre taste in a spouse my friend:p Gosh, she must really like your boat to hang around though!

Speaking of mediocre, this is the Teleflex Marine Featured Video Page. Check out the "Favorite Video" down to the right there:

OK, after that intermission, quick update.

I got the Guide On Pads slid in place...

That dresses up a little better;)

Finally had enough room in my workshop to get the hatch covers sanded/primed/painted...

The windshield pieces turned out good with the "flat" black... Can't wait to see the install on the above pieces...

Yeah, what was that all about? TII

I don't know, but did everybody have to 'prove' they were human w/ a 5 digit web-bot code from each of their devices to access the forum for the 1st time after it came back on line? With additional time logging in & processing? Probably related to the recent spamming of quite a few threads just before the blackout....

EDIT:
Nice looking windshield install! Looks good w/ the slight green tint & the flat black.

Hmmm, + seats, won't be long now...

Just getting caught up with the thread. What a great vid. You could see how much you were enjoying the splash by the grin on your face and the laughter. Looked like it handled very well.
How did the new steering cable work out for you.
Can't wait to see the finnished boat. It all looks great.

Jbc, Had to do the 5 digit also @ work and home.
