Re: 1980 Sea Nymph SS 165 Rebuild

I pulled the E Kill switch off and....

POW!!!!!!

VROOOOOMMMM

:D

Oh hey, I need to explain this a little ^^^ too. See, there was a little more to it than just getting the engine to turn over:rolleyes:

So to pull the E Kill Switch off I took the ignition switch out of the dash. So I was basically holding it in my hand turning it over. As the engine started I let go of the ignition switch and it slid just right in my hand. POW! Major voltage through my carcass! (Better than a pot o coffee in the a.m.!) Got a big ol blister on my hand from that:rolleyes:

I didn't care a bit as the engine fired! But the VROOM! See, the throttle cable wasn't yet adjusted and it was hitting the gas big time! VROOOOM!!!

Bah, she started and ran great today:D

Though, I am totally confused on that kill switch now. I don't even know where to start there. It's really pretty simple, I don't know what I'm doing wrong there:confused:

Yah, she definitely needs to get dressed up now. I only have a few days before our family fun time on the lake this weekend. I think I can get everything done but the stern bench seat. Though I really want it in for this weekend I'm just not sure I can pull it off (upholstery included).

I see a continuing jasonoutside trend here. Both splashes were sans seating. LOL She looked great skipping across the water. Waving at glitterboats - Priceless. Get some decals on the motor, will ya. The whole time I watched, all I could think of was "White Leg of Death"

Great splash, Jas.

I love the smile from the begining to end. Priceless. I also love that at times it looks like you are fast forwarding because the water is whipping by so fast. You were kneeling right? How did your knees, not to mention the camera, take that pounding from the waves? I think the "wave" to the bass boat looked more like a Heisman-style stiff arm. Excellent!

Re: 1980 Sea Nymph SS 165 Rebuild

Glad you got her started and got a sea trial cruise in. Thanks for taking us along.

Here's to a productive week and an even better outing next weekend.

Do have to ask,

I dropped the family off at the beach area and headed to the dock.

And

Sea Trial complete! Hanging at the beach with the kiddos.

Did you at least take the foam removal crew for a lap around the lake?

Re: 1980 Sea Nymph SS 165 Rebuild

Thanks fellas! Great day!!!:D

Bcast - great to see ya buddy!

GA - Yah, kinda funny about the missing seats, didn't intend for it! I just didn't have the correct sized fasteners on hand for install. We'll remedy that quick enough. Decals for the engine you say? Hang tight, I may need some help deciding on that...

Freud - Stiff arm, that's good stuff right there:D

DJ - Just over at Sanford Lake, only 20 min from my place;)

PMC - Free van rides, mountains of pancakes, 10's of thousands of college students and The One. What could be better?

Drew, Mag, Glen - Thanks guys! I'm getting closer here!

Truck - Nah, she wasn't quite ready for family just yet. Soon!
