Yes sir. Wireless for laptop. Two weeks isn't that far away! My boat is running great,however the 80 amp fuse I installed on the inverter wasn't large enough for the coffee maker. The inverter is rated for a 200 amp fuse. I had th admiral run and grab a 150amp and we were able to have coffee. Only a couple hundred bucks to have fresh brewed coffee on the lake.

I hope to dig into the dash wiring this week sometime...I've also got finals next week for school so i may not find the time. I suppose I should be studying and not "working" on the boat! Lol
On another note, I've not had any bites on my lil' trihull up for sale . I've got her price at 2g's....I don't think i'm overpriced, I may wait it out a bit longer before dropping the price.

good luck with finals,

as far as the tri hull goes, they are neat boats. i missed mine last year when i was having all the problems with my current one. i wouldn't drop the price yet. heck up here most havent woke up their boats yet. season starts around may 1, with the sweetspot at the end of june, just before july 4. if anything take it off the market for a few weeks and then relist, you should be fine. if no takers make sure you take it to the lake on memorial day with a few, for sale, signs on it.
where are you listing it?

I just have it listed on craigslist. I'm really not in too much of a rush to sell it, so I will probably take your advice and wait till a little later in the season.

no boat work today....I've got to hit the books...Yay. lol

Two more finals tomorrow...physics and chemistry...yay. I shouldve done this school thing 10 years ago! but oh well...
Anyways, inbetween studying I had to take a break and relieve some stress, so out to the boat I went..
I decided to make a small support for where the bow rise starts. Previously there was just a wrap of a couple layers of carpet across the entire trailer cross member (which I tore off when I repainted it)
I made a simple template of the shape of the hull and made the support out of 1/2"PT plywood and PT 2x4's. I cut everything to size and glued and screwed together. Clamped it down and let it dry in the hot sun for several hours. Covered it in carpet and installed it by loosening the trailer crossmember enough to get the piece in there.
This is the area the support is needed:

Carpeted and Installed (that lil tiny area where the carpet doesn't cover is driving me crazy!!!!)

As you can see, I have some pretty bad beach rash to address and although not in the pic I have a couple gouges in the starboard hull sides that will be repaired eventually. Can I just gelcoat over that beach rash area? Its not gouged or anything...just the gel is stripped off. The glass is pretty smooth.

Working on the boat always relaxes me...even though I'm cussing usually! lol
After my two finals tomorrow I have the summer off from school...Still work but no school will sure free up some time for me...

Just double cover that thing with carpet not like it woun't eventually need it and as far as the hull surface from beaching not an expert but I'd bet just a rough and scuff and it would be good to go for some gel. Good luck on the finals!

well...I should be studying....
But, I was going through checking things on the trailer prior to heading to the lake this weekend and I noticed the bow eye had a little wiggle to it when I tightened up the winch. I have always noticed something was up with the bow eye as it has NEVER been straight, the bottom poked outward slightly more than the topside. I've always been meaning to address it and tonight was the time. So, i climbed inside the boat and took a look....
I didn't get pictures of inside the boat but there is what I assume to be a glassed in block of wood at the bow eye for added strength and the glass is SUPER thick. Anyways, the inside bracket that spans the two threads was compressed into the block of wood allowing the bow eye to wiggle!!!! I'm glad I found this before a catastrophe occured.
I removed the bow eye and poked around the holes and the wood appears dry. I don't know if somebody picked the dang boat up by the bow eye or what...but it had a significant amount of stress on it at some point to compress into the wood. Luckily the fiberglass was only damaged where the nuts were at..and only on the inside. A bigger backer plate was in order.

I had a powder coated bracket that came with my truck steps that wasn't used for my particular truck. I cut it to the length of the "block of wood backer" that is in the boat and drilled holes for the bow eye. Quick coat of paint to prevent rust where I cut it and drilled. It is MUCH beefier than the measily little bracket that WAS on the bow eye.
I'll install the bow eye tomorrow with some 5200 in the holes. There was zero sealant when I removed it.
Anyways, heres pics of the new and old backer plate:

Also, the nuts on the inside were obviously NOT stainless as they were rusted badly. The bottom nut (the one sunk in farther) was about half way gone! I'll be replacing both nuts with SS nyloc nuts. The nuts on the outside ARE stainless...I find it weird that Bayliner would use a stainless bow eye and SS nuts on the outside and then get cheap over two nuts on the inside....Hmmf.

to hear you could take a break and get back to the mistress,,lol that plate looked like it was hangin on for dear life. looks like you got to it just in time. that new one should do well, even if you take it too the hooks to get the bottom cleaned this fall,lol actually that gave me a bit of a start my bow eye was loose as well. it has the nylon locking nuts,, you guessed it they weren't stainless.
whats up with the manufacturers, almost gettin it done,bahaha, prolly someone did it aftermarket for whatever reason:facepalm:. i can tell u one thing,,, i care more about my nuts than to have them rot up against some,,,gulp,,, hole,,,

Oh! and physics final: 96%. Chemistry final: waiting for results but think I did well. I also had a literature final but I don't count that garbage. I'm sure I have an A in that class. Literature is just BS to me and I can BS with the best of em!

shweeeeet glad to hear all is going well with the finals.
i planned on splashing before the weekend but the weather turned nasty. rained my last 2 days off, tue n thurs but i did get some much needed supplies,, i plan to go against the red stripe again, this time armed with the right stuff.
splash by the end of next week. pop is gonna come help me finish the rgb led install next thurs and i really hope that it's in the water so he can join in the maden voyage after all that has been done, and tighten up on my wireing and just enjoy the day.

stopped by my slip today to give it a once over, and 1 boat is in now in at my marina, in a month it'll be filled to the gills. cant wait to enjoy. i hope you have great weather this weekend so you can get some r n r

Thank you sir...The weather was beautiful! 90f during the day and sunny, low of 63f, perfect sleeping weather. We just got back from the lake and had blast...everyone is sunburned but we had fun! Saturday night the marina had a "boat parade" with boats all decorated up..it was fun. Stopped at the restaurant and finally had the guts to back into the slip. It really wasn't that tough, don't know why i was scared to try it...

I just finished washing the boat down and getting her tucked away for the week. Hope to hit the lake next weekend also.... I'd like to find the time this week to dig into the dash wiring. I have a lighter socket I wanna install and I think i'm gonna change out the main fuse panel at the dash...new switches would be nice too

sounds like you had awesome weather. and a blast at the marina. backing in can be quite tuff with the wrong wind and current, however practice makes it easier.
good luck on the wireing and the fuze panel. hows that inverter working out. i am drolling over the stored power.

The inverter is great. I ran my computer charger all night for three nights, coffee maker four times, and phone chargers, fan, etc....I love having it! I may add another battery just for good measure. I currently have 230amp hours for the house bank. Another battery would give me another 115amp/hr.

May I ask wht your super cleaner formula is????? the toilet bowl/peroxide stuff..
I need to clean the non-skid areas of my decks..They are a pain to clean!!!! Purple power does it but NOT very well.

the super secret pittsburgh bottom cleaner( pat pending,,lol) 60 pieroxide 40 lysol, no water, no prewet,

spray on wait 10 min lightly agitate then hose off. 75/25 works great as well, and sprays easier.
it may be a lil overkill tho.

give me a day or 2,,,, i got some starbrite deck cleaner and woodys spray with teflon to treat mine, if i get the rest of my stripe compounded and buffed with the big dog buffer, thats next. i'll post what i find with those chemicals, to give you a litmus test before you make a purchase.
from what i am hearing the woodys will keep it clean but not slippery. as far as cleaning in the first place, i'll let you know if the starbrite formula is easier or cheaper than the super secret (cheap, bahahaha) stuff.

i am off tomorrow and hope to get that all done, as well as fill the freshwater and run the engine on the muffs. man i hope it dont rain, i really wana splash wed eve or thurs am,,,,,i am soo excited
