Nice dII. Just wondering if you were going to make the trailer shiny. Just a little work buffing it out ya know.

Great idea there 64 --- then it'd match the new fenders! :) Hmmm... bet that'd look sharp!

Thanks guys, the trailer is going to be shiney, but with blue paint, no polishing. It is already taking to mush time away from boat building.

Great work w/ the fenders!

Thanks JB.

You could send it out to have it chromed.

It would add a few thousand to the build and you need to find someone with a really big dip tank.:faint2:

As always great work.

Don't know about breaking the bank, but you might have to rob a couple to pay for a chromed trailer. :laser:

Pics of the trailer, primed and color on the undersides of the fenders so I could bolt them on and finish painting as an assembly. Finish paint in the morning (I hope)

I see a nice blue trailer on the way. No bank tellers hurt in this trailer refurb. :watermelon:

Blue it is GA.

Paint is done, I used Rustoleum Pro as usual, thined with actone. Now I just have to work on the patience, so I don't try and put it all back together before its dry enough.
My hands are going to take some cleaning as well, they kinda look like they belong to Papa Smurf:laugh:

Man does that look great, what are you going to use on the step plates on the trailer, I rebuilt one once with the same style step pads and used polished aluminum diamond plate came out nice

Pretty good match I would say 64, but I don't think your captain is tall enough to see out the windshield.:D

Thanks Bud, so you are a closet starcraft restorer;) how many have you done? The diamond plate is a good idea, just that the stuff is real expensive around here. Will have to do some shopping

Re: 1986 ss 201

I was lucky to get a piece pf 4x6 ft 1/2 of it was oxidized the other was good at a metal scrap yard for about 40.00 as far as i can remember. I've restored 1 18 ft cuddy starcraft, 2 16 ss bowriders, 1 sylvan 16 bowrider, 1 17 ft bluefin bowrider and totally replaced with vinal floor and new carpet a 2003 lund 1700 fisherman, learned a little more each time I did one, but I know I've never done one as well as I've seen you do, and I've learned a lot more from being on this site, especially watching yourself, Dave, Jason and Sprintest. Also I shouldn't say I've done them all by myself my son helped me with the first 5. I agree with you love doing those tinnies

That is an impressive list of rebuilds Bud, you should post up some photos for us all to see. As far as not doing one as well as I have, I'don't know about that. Your working on a pretty specatular one right now. And your right there are a great bunch of guys that have helped us a along, each contributing to our ability to redo these great boats.

Great job, I really like the blue. I'd love to do mine but after redoing a trailer once before I vowed never again. A new single axle galvanized trailer for my sized hull just isn't expensive enough to warrant all the work.

Hey Glen not sure if I did this right, but I posted a few pics of my 18 Starcraft cuddy, just click on my profile and have a look at it.

Thanks EZ, I really didn't want to do another trailer either but a tandem is $3500 and when I got the axles for nada I had to go ahead with it. With the size of the 201 I jsut didn't feel comfortable with the single axle.
