that display is for EMMs or FICHT ECUs isn't it ?
If your addressing me, then no. That system check came with my 3 cylinder 96 25 Johnson. Not sure why they didn't have a system check tach but it's better than nothing.

I was just wondering what the OP had for a hot warning device....not sure why this is being so hard but maybe the parts people have messed this up.

Ok, eBay had a gearcase for sale.....zooming in I see what it should look like. Clearly isn't the one you have.

this is excellent advice! one of the most critical things you can do is verify the temp sender is closing at the appropriate temp (im guessing this is a blue stripe one so 240f or so in a pot of oil. i like to replace with the all-brown ones that close at 200f or so) and that the hot horn is working. probably wouldnt help in many cases at high speed, but still as you said better than nothing. additionally these packs should've warned you with the SLOW mode limiter at around 2500rpm. god help you if that doesnt work as these packs are $400

The 3 cylinder 25 / 35 HP use optical ignition.-----Temperature sensor is needed to control timing for warm-up on cold starts I believe.

Well here's my motor. 1996 2 stroke 25 3 cylinder. Had for a year but haven't played with it yet. I was going to swap out my 85 30hp but now I'm not sure

Vro was removed before I got it and someone must have put these pumps on it....not sure why it has two.

Does this look similar to yours?

This is the water pump mine calls for.

Ok update( sorry for delay, had shipping delay/issues)
First thank you all for helping.
Ordered the 18-3491 pump kit. Turned out to be one I've already tried. Way to big, looks like it would be for a 40/50+
It's hard to see the pic Saltchuckmatt of the one you found on ebay, but it looks close to what is advertised in your post.
Below are some pics of the 18-3491(second one we ordered) and it's clearly different.

Racerone, input on right parts?
The grommet your speaking of is not going to remedy the housing being too tall.

I have worked on several outboard and rebuilt a few. However I'm not ( but looks like i will be) familiar with this year/3cyl design.
Just a random idea.. would a 2cyl lower unit fit the 3cyl engine? ( agin, it was purchased on ebay say idk what may be mismatched) Gonna check lower unit housing numbers tomorrow and verify hopefully.
Thoughts on that?

Some " club fisted " clown on E-Bay sent you the wrong parts !!
Update
Yes racerone, wrong parts, correct part numbers.
He ordered the pump from Amazon, 5 different vendors. So, twice we received a pump that wa for a 25, once for a 50(?)up and once for 90(?) Up.
What was so confusing is he ordered with same part numbers that is now correct. Dumb ass people. So, the engine as he received it had the 25 impeller housing that was supposedly just replaced( he bought the engine on ebay). Upon disassembly I noticed something wasn't right, but we had the right part numbers pump( atleast that's what was on the box it came in, and looked to have been unopened).

Got new correct pump, height looks good, seal etc.
Going to start putting back together today. The power head is off and the cyl. Head. So it's gonna be awhile before we get it going 100%, but i will update as progress is made.

As you can see compared to the incorrect pump the height is clearly seen.

When you keep getting wrong parts, and the one in the engine was wrong to begin with its challenging to get the right one..

E-bay / internet sellers are not knowledgeable of the products they sell.----They just process numbers and information !----Find / deal with your local friendly shop , if you still have one.
