The rig is looking good there, glad to hear the issue with the motor was a simple one to solve.

Sounds like you need to buy Chewie a beer for his technical support;)

What did you do exactly to get the air bubble out?

Good luck on the splash, I had fun with mine all summer without painting it so don't let that slow you down:D

Very, very nicely done, Cap.

I would, however, like to add that it's not complete until the quesadilla maker has been installed.

As far as air in the fuel line, it's a problem I've had in the past, so I kinda recognized the symptoms. You just need to disconnect the fuel line at the carb (or as close as possible) and squeeze the priming bulb (GENTLY!!, unless you want an eye, face, or boat full of gas) until fuel comes out. Reattach the fuel line, and boom! - the **insert boat name** is back in action.

I think that instead of taking him up on that beer, I may just make him swim to retrieve one of my ducks!

Well then, thank you and thank you. I can only hope that the skipper takes me up on at least one of them. Sadly, I think he'll swim before I'll get my quesadillas!

Either one would surely be video worthy though!

Rather than quesadillas...wouldn't a rottisserie grill be nice for the fresh birds to roast on?:D

Good luck with the rig fellas, and let us know what kind of performance you are getting with that OB.

I got your quesadillas right here!

I did paint the OB's to match the boat.

As as for the performance, she runs good but needs to be run to clean her up a little and I'm certain that I need to adjust the throttle cable.
I am off to the otherside of the country for work today and will be on the boat again Sunday afternoon for a ride.

Well, Project "WATERLOG" will have its first hunting voyage this weekend.
I will get some pictures of her in action then I will put together the photo log to upload to the completed projects page.

Ah....to hear the words "Completed Project" feels so good. Now I know, no boat is ever a truely completed project but to this point she's as complete as she is going to get for 6 months or so.

Thank you all for watching.

Re: 22' Starcraft Mariner Project is underway!

Waterlog's first hunting trip on Lake Huron was a good one. She ran great and handled 2 - 5 footers nicely. Didn't even get wet much.
Motor did well but is a cold hearted B*&$h.

We ended up with a couple of ducks and enjoyed a day on the water.

I was in such a hurry that I forgot batteries for the camera, so I'll have to post photos of her in action on another trip.

That think looks military. Is that the new stealth paint that reflects radar...or whatever the ducks are using these days :)

I like your thinking but its Parker Coatings Bay Gray boat paint.
Great stuff.

Re: 22' Starcraft Mariner Project is underway!

After a long winter and a excellent duck hunting season. Project "WATERLOG" is coming out of storage in the weeks to come and is getting retro fitted to be a summer cruiser.
Here is my list of projects:
1. Replace steering system due to failure at the end of the duck season.
2. Repaint entire boat due to excessive wear during duck season.
3. Purchase & Install carpet
4. Purchase & Install pontoon style bench seats
5. Purchase & Install pedistal table
6. Purchase & Install Bimini Top
And if I'm lucky, find a new power plant. The ol' 150 did a great job last fall but I've got my eyes looking for a 225 as the 150 did operate optimally.

Hope all is well with everyone.
I will keep my progress posted.

Its hard to think spring when there is still Ice on Lake Michigan.

Re: 22' Starcraft Mariner Project is underway!

I'm thinking of going the same rout with a tender boat for squaw, scoter, and diver action on the big lakes here in Wisconsin. Reason, I quickly realized my 16' is just way too small for any weather. So, I love the boat!!! Great job opening it up for open water hunting, and in all honestly, i'm a bit jealous. How good did that motor push your boat loaded? What is loaded for you? I know we have 3-4 guys, 1 or 2 layouts, up to 13doz decoys on any day. I am sick of splitting up everything in 2 boats! I'm really leaning towards a 21 or 22 hull and trailer. I want to purchase a Verado, but I don't know what size I would have to be looking for. Just know it has to be a 4 stroke, make way too long of runs (up to 10 miles one way) to have a 2 stroke.

The ice is gone and the temps are rising. I did my yard clean up last night and hauled some stuff off to storage and got a chance to look at the boat. I'm itching to get the boat out and get started on cleaning her up but that will have to wait, its raining now anyways.

Finally got the boat out of storage last night and she back where she belongs in the driveway. I was like a kid a christmas, I wasn't able to sit still once she was in the driveway. I just wanted to get started. Well I will tonight. First thing is to pull the console and some floor to replace the helm and stearing system.
