Re: 64 Edinboro custom learn somthing new every day

I'm not big on the stripes. Sorry !

If this were mine and I was using the dark teal color on the foredeck and sidedecks, I would paint the raised area on the bow a light cream color. Then I would paint the floor the same color.

Cream and green are "classic boat" colors ... but then I'm kinda a traditionalist at heart. That's why I like "old" stuff!

If you like, the raised lines could also be teal or some other complimentary contrasting color.

Whatever you choose I'm sure you will make it look great!

Yep a cream color would look great with the teal/green .I was thinking about doing the stripes that color but with the bright white hull I don't know how it would look. The white vinyl for the seats is a kinda antique white. And the hardtop is the same as the hull. The raised part on the bow wraps around and down the gunwhale caps so I'm not sure how I could transition to a different color. Paint schemes have been going thru my mind for day's. My head hurts! :p
I'll do something even if it's wrong.. LOL!

Don't forget that darker colors tend to absorb the summer heat.

Think about painting the top cream as well if you decide to use the scheme I suggested. That teal is a great color but with the top the same it could become "too much". And hot too ..

I like to work with the natural curves and elevations of the fiberglass. A bit of creative masking can make or break the job. The fact that you have so many great possibilities makes it all the harder!

I spent HOURS thinking about my paint. To the point of craziness! My family couldn't understand why I agonized over it. Obviously, they aren't "boat people"! :p

Be Careful! Don't scratch it on the first day!

Hope you have a great "shakedown" cruise!

That's funny that you say that because I was just looking at all the little touch-ups I have already ... lol.

Looks great!!!! The stripes alone are worth and extra 5-10 mph on the top end. It's a fact....probably :) Keep on vroom-vrooming!

That paint looks great!

Start putting on parts and git er launched! Times a wastin' and its almost July already!

I like the cockpit chair. It reminds of a wooden boat builders once saying that every shop needed a "moaning chair". That's where you go when you realize you drilled in the wrong spot, broke an irreplaceable part, discovered that the $50 worth of paint you bought is no good, your engine is long and your transom short and ... well ... you get the idea!

Keep on keepin on. You'll get there!

kfa ,
Thats why I added the stripes so it would a least look like it's going faster !

Yanks ,
A couple days of sanding and that will take the feeling away quick!

Steve,
That's my head scratchin chair. Spent many a hours scratchin till the hair starts disappearing. Or the frosty beverage is gone. :p
