Re: 66 Starcraft Sunchief Re-Build

Maybe you'll have to take 2 boats. Or we'll set up a video taking session at Anna next year.

And btw, it's really tickin me off that I can't get some decent video runnin here.

ya know, thats actually not a bad idea! i think that if anyone is into photography or something and has a really good quality camera and maybe an hd video camera we can do a little photoshoot, giving everyone high quality water shots and videos of the boat... im gonna toss the idea in the thread...

Re: 66 Starcraft Sunchief Re-Build

Thanks John.

We did some final adjustments to the carb and took off to the lake to try her out again today. Much Better!!

With the 14 x 19 prop we got 29 mph and 3700 rpms. I think that's about the best she's gonna do with compression where it is right now.

AND.... we finally got us a little bit of video!!!

Here's the links-

The limo looks great. Looks like she planes out smooth. If you see an extra 3.0 laying around let me know. I need a whole set up.

NB that was sweeeeeeet... What a sharp boat.. After all these years who'd of thought that boat would still be around showing up the top dollar boats of today.

Hey, I get mine back with the new 115 Evinrude E-Tec tomorrow and I just pulled a 93 V135 Merc off the back of a Bayliner for 600.00. Let's see, one boat one new engine. Two decent other engines in the garage and no boat to put them on.... Sounds like it's time for another resto... I'm on the hunt .... Let's see, sell the Mariner 100 ehgine, buy a diamond in the rough boat. Yep, I can do this! I just hope my shoes hold out cuz I won't be able to buy a new pair for a while.. LOL...

Awesome videos. It's nice to see what I'm working towards. Damned if that boat doesn't look as stable as hell.

Re: 66 Starcraft Sunchief Re-Build

Thanks Guys! The boat is really running well now. And most of what we've had to fix recently are things a boat owner should probably have a good understanding of anyways. So all in all, the mechanical issues have probably forced me to become more knowledgable in those areas.

Same here. Sick videos. I may wait now till spring to have the engine pulled and re-done to have full power and no problems.

That thing turns on a dime.

Re: 66 Starcraft Sunchief Re-Build

I think it's in the Star's... Your boat is running great, I have a new E-Tec 115 that's going for ride this Sunday, the Mariner 100 problem is solved and I can sell it with a clear concience. The newly acquired Merc V-135 Balck Max is my 09-10 Winter project and at this second (ROFLOL), my mind is made up to not resto another boat this comming winter.

Do you have anything in mind for this winter?
