Hi Sprinter,

Sorry to hear about the stern loom being a mess. Now you have the opportunity to use marine grade wiring and connectors and properly rewire the boat. From what you've said, someone had wired it (badly) as if it were a car? I.e chassis (or in your case hull) as negative earth? If they had, it's great that you're redoing it properly with a decent amperage negative wire direct to the battery negative. Good luck my Canadian friend, post some before and after pix for our amusement! :)

I'm watching the movie Forgetting Sarah Marshall and I just realized I was as the same beach that they filmed the movie at. It's Turtle Bay Resort and we just used the beach for the day. It's a great beach that the public can use even if you don't stay there.

It's going to make watching the movie more fun as I can look for landmarks. Enough with the Oahu tourism board stuff.

More rotten wiring tomorrow.

Wiring is my least favorite task of boat restoration too, I hear ya:)

My before and after pictures are equally disturbing so mine is getting redone(again) this winter. I want to run it all thru a pvc conduit under the gunwales.

Hope all goes well for ya sprint.

Have fun with the wiring. I actually like doing wiring. It's therapeutic and very satisfying. It's a good feeling when you get done and it looks all nice and neat and works well. Love to color on the boat. Reminds me of my old navy blue metallic TransAm.

Here's the pics of my gunwale supports and seats heading off to the upholsterer a while back.

Also some pics of a cool massive alum boat in a parking lot. I think the guy had it posted for sale at 60k

I told the wife I was Jesse James after fabbing a bracket for the bilge pump. I'm not sure she liked the comparison :) It will tuck in by the bilge plug and hugs the bottom of the boat perfectly. It's made out of a $1.20 Simpson joist tie.

OK Jesse,
Could you whip up one of those cools bikes or I'll settle for a gelcoate eater/ smoother. :p:D
Looks like that bracket should do the trick. is it Galvanized?
Take care

Funny thing on the bracket..
I have been kicking around some way of mounting my pump as well!
Was thinking of a bracket to mount either on the block itself or fab something that can mount on the transom..

Good job Jesse....

I ran my led strip lights in the gunwale pockets today and ran the wiring in a loom. The lights and wiring were zip wrapped to adhesive strips made to be zip tied to.

I'll post some pics tomorrow and tomorrow night with the battery temporarily hooked up to see how they look.

Nice work on the bilge bracket, if you end up having extras I can PM you my address and ship some good Michigan beer back to ya:p:D

That jet boat had some serious enclosure going on, looks like a nice rig:cool:

I'll see what else I can get done tomorrow. I mounted the bilge pump and butt connected and shrink wrapped some connections.

Tomorrow I'll see if I can get some of the original wires off my old harness and onto the new accessory harness. I can then stick it in a loom and secure it.

Routing it all nice like and making it look decent will be the most time consuming.

PS. Thanks guys. The lights turned out pretty good. I think I could bait a hook or find stuff if I had to now :)

Here's some shots of the wiring spaghetti. The third pic is a shot of my new ezacdc harness with quick connect connectors.

I started out my tracing each wire off the switches to the destinations and marked and disconnected them.

I managed to get the EZACDC rewire your old panel kit that includes a wired up Blue Sea ST Blade Fuse Block that can either attach to one of there own EZACDC harnesses or the leads to connect to your old accessory harness. http://www.ezacdc.com/Scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=34

There are leads to connect to accessories, stereo, etc.

I cleaned up the messed up grounds, etc and put the old harness in a wiring loom and straterd to take it up before I had to take off to pickup my boys from Tae Kwon do, volleyball, etc.

So far I have working nav lights, horn, and bilge pump and auto/manual switches. I shot a big dead moth out of the horn when I fired her up :)

The next day or so will be wiring cleanup and mounting...
