I can answer that for you.. If you can scratch up the bucks go have it done. If not get a bunch of plastic tarps and spread them out over an area about 3 times the size of your trailer. Blast until you run out then sweep it up, send it through a sieve and reuse it. The sand will actually stay pretty close to your work, you'll be suprised. Tanks in the U.S. are measured in lbs. not gals. a 20lb tank is about the same as 5 gal and lasts about 10 minutes. You'll get really tired of stopping and refilling a tank that small but buying anything bigger is a waste of money unless you want to make a career out of it.

I just emailed the guy to keep the pressure sprayer as he still has it. Looks like I will be sandblasting soon enough :)

I got a bit more done. Checkout the rotten fuel sender that was inside the tank. Cleaned it all out and got it bolted in. Finally got a break and the sender kit required no cutting as it was setup for a 12 deep tank.

I also pulled the fittings and added the goop that came with my fuel filter kit to all fittings so that they never leak.

I had another few minutes and added the plumbing in for the fuel filter kit and gas tank. All new hoses and Moeller tank kit for the filler, vent hose, etc.

You can kind of see the hose that I ran to the bilge pump as all this stuff will be hard to get at when the jump seats are added back in. A little closer everyday.

She's comming along nicely. Leaving nothing to worry about later is great policy.. Keep it up and you'll be on the water worry free in no time.

Hey Sprint, won't be long now and you will be hitting the water. Seems to take forever to get all the little detail stuff done.

Ahmen, the worst part is the first splash and all the things that go through your head.. Did I tighten this, did I fix that, did I, did I, did I,..... Then it's splash and check this, check that, again, again and again. Finally after about a dozen trips out you'll start to feel confident. Then it'll happen. Your out on the water and you start thinking, hum,,, I really should have done this different or it sure would be nice to have this here... LOL... You'll never really be done with it, it's a boat and it's why we do what we do. Enjoy it while you can.

This is absolutely true... every other weekend I'm in the chandlers looking for something else that could possibly one day be useful for the boat... it drives my wife NUTS! :D

My last big sticking point is pulling the shifter off, taking it apart to unstick the spring or buy a new one with what is in my Paypal account.

The other big hurdle coming really fast is to jack up the boat, push some tires under it, lower it and drive the trailer out from under her. With any luck I'd like to get the trailer done with new leaf springs and painted before I take the maiden voyage.

I think I'm really functionally close and the rest is cosmetics.

Thanks for keeping me going as it's about time I got to go fishing. Having a beer listening to the stereo while I work on the boat seems to help :)

Hey that's what we're here for. Having a "Moleskins" or "LabRats" listening to the stereo while wondering why you bought that maybe one day possibly useful item sounds like my kind of pastime! :D

We all really need to get a beer together and do some fishing. We need to draw a line from Australia, California, Texas, Ohio, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Florida, Nevada, Michigan, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Arizona, Indiana, Tennessee, Kentucky, Connecticut, Oklahoma, Vermont, etc and where that line intersects we go party and then do some fishing :)

The intersecting line might be Las Vegas. Sorry Triton you have actually have the furthest to go but I'm sure it would be a good time. :)

Reminds me of how war time brought people together from all parts. Have a beer and recant in tales of horror and glory.

You organise it and I'll be there! I'll have to see if QC could drive me up from LAX. :)

Q. Are there any fish in Lake Mead?

A. Who cares. We'll have beer and a swag full of lies! :D

Just picked up some of the trailer POR-15 prep materials. One will degrease the trailer after sandblasting and the other will etch it and I'm ready for paint.

The POR-15 paint will be Whitecote which hopefully will be good forever.

Man I wish I had your ambition that paint should be awesome on the trailer curious to see it done as I may put that on my list for next year for now I just plan on knocking off the worst of the peely paint and spraying the trailer with rusto when the boat is flipped. Keep it up this thread is truly inspiring !!

Great idea to get that trailer all squared away prior to the first launch.

I wish I'd addressed my trailer issues sooner myself.

After all the great work you've done she deserves a proper towing set up.:)

Looking forward to your launch Sprint...and I will let the LabRats comment slide TII.:D
