You know.....118 is hot....that is the temp inside the boat today...

Not sure if it was Mr. Murphy or the beginning stages of heat stroke....

Troop I think you did a great job on the tank. You can tell you put alot of thought into it.
You have good drainage and good coat of gel coat and the right strips put under the tank and with the foam around the sides of the tank it should not move at all. You should have plenty of room for the tank to expand.
The tank has a good air circulation to keep it dry. The excellent paint job you did should prevent any water from touching the aluminum if water ever even gets in the tank area.
I think you have covered everything.

Not sure about being ahead of you..I still have to work on the bottom, the cap...the deck was the easy part :)

Not long at all brutha...

Steady pace...I started out with that exact frame of mind...do something, no matter how trivial it felt to me...everyday...unless of course work took me out of town...and I have done just that...

As for being nosey....I don't think of it that way at all...I appreciate everyone's input/question...anything at all...fine with me...the more the merrier...

Oh wait lost my train of thought...
Ski locker...yes I still need to put some 1708/CSM in the bottom of it..and I intend to gelcoat that too...lid...not sure...it came with a teak cover....not in best shape...may just put a water proof lid on it...will have to wait and see...open for any and all suggestions.

Re: '78 Ebko Lebaron - Therapy

well, it took a little longer than my first prediction...

218 days to be exact...but....

We have a deck!!!

Man I am so happy to have it in there....still has a lot more work to go...but it is flat now...and semi water proof..

This is the section fore of the ski locker...I was worried about how to get water to drain...had plans for a PVC pipe...but the water drains above had no path to the pipe...and the pipe had no holes :(

so....made a super duper water channel....laid plastic on there over top of the PVC and a couple tube that fit where I needed them to...

I did not think I was going to be able to pull it up though..left the plastic on it for protection...

Next to last piece...

Drum roll please......

Last piece!!!! Whoohoo!!

I let the 13 yr old grandson put the last screw down...he stuck with me all day long... was a great help...It was dark...but we got her done...well not done, but down...still got to PB...Tab...foam...then we can lay the top layers of glass and the deck will be finished..I would have got a shot of the entire deck, but it is a little cluttered up...

Congrats on getting the deck all in Troop ! It's amazing how much work there is under a few sheets of plywood! :) You handled everything like a trooper Troop from the unbearable heat to slight mishaps with the wife's cooking utensils ! LOL !
You are on a roll !!

Hey thanks Wood...Feels great I tell you..

Still out here trying to get the foam done...it's going but hot...

I had not give it much thought on which direction to go...what would you suggest? My glass is all 50" and the boat is 76" at it's widest...
saying that it makes sense to go Bow to Stern...

Yeah, I would. Masking tape it down and cut it in to fit. Roll it up, start in the bow and start wettin and rollin. Pre stage your resin in quarts with the MEKP ready to pour and stir, have a helper so you can tell em to mix a another batch and you could roll it out in a couple of hours.

Sounds like a plan...I have one layer of 1.5oz CSM already..was thinking to add 2 more layers...I wanted to have some 1708 on the deck too, but not sure I will have enough...

This sound OK? I plan to put gelcoat down on the deck also...
