If you can still get them to screw in and out, with a little persuasion, they should be good to go...otherwise the push-in types or a rectangular opening would do the trick...

Another thought I just came up with...

You only need to be able to get on off, before you can take the the other one off...

You could make a shallow cut on the underside of one of the lids, and create a sort of hinged flap, that when you need to remove, you just lift and twist...

Kind of hard to make a clear sketch, but here's a try...

Decided to take it easy tonight..only 6:00pm and the boat is put to bed....tools all put up...


I did clean the Deck off again...so neat to be able to say that

Oh ya....

I cut all the 6" and 8" tabbing...will put this on in the morning....hope I have enough resin...

Also had enough time to cut the 4 rolls of CSM needed to get 2 more layers on the deck...that was a lot of work....thank you wifey for the help !

Looks like my resources are getting thin!

The last picture, I wander how many of us have a contraption just like yours. lol

Back to the access ports, I was worried that even though the flat areas line up OK, the curved portion prior to twist in would not let the lid go down. I guess you took care of that with the Trooper Flap. Or is it the GT Flap. Maybe the Trooper Flap GT model.

I only have the resin for the tabbing, plan on starting at daylight tomorrow.

That will be almost 5 gallons to lay the deck, yikes

I think the admiral should have mandated a bedtime for you that more closely matched the tank painting crews. Daylight? I don't even like to stumble outside to let the new dog take a P at daylight. Let alone start glassing:facepalm: Probably why your tabbing in your deck & I'm still fighting the bedliner @ the tin & the cap is still 'on' the glasser that does not yet have a cradle.

Carp, you & Jas are machines..... Made me yawn just typing about it:facepalm:

Hope the tabbing goes well for you ! And hopefully the fiber glass back pocket pain goes away soon . Ya hate to blow the whole boat budget on stinky itchy stuff ya know !

Thanks bear.......but not really, just a little double tabbing...have enough resin to maybe make some paste and fill the screw holes on the deck....I may go out and do that after the tabs dry...
