I think a large shrnk wrap over the connector couldn't hurt either or atleast some electrical gel. I have found that solder joints like to corrode pretty quik on the soldr joints I had made, this will clean that up.
By the way, your light strip look great, they look to be like the ones I originally bought, the white strip I posted a while back. There probably a better quality than the ones I put in the bow area.
 shish, now i am nervous.
when you soldered yours did you put anything on it? i was a little worried about corrosion, thats why i put the silicone on the jumpers, i was also thinking that if i put too much silicone in the jumper it would displace the fingers, so i tried to not overload,( so far so good, day 2,lol) i wasn't really thinkin at all about the wire splice, maybe ill put a lil silicone on my solder splices before the heatshrink? thoughts?
not so sure prolly about the same, 6 in one hand,,,lol
just by peeling the ends off, i think if you bend them around too much you will get some space between the strip and the silicone covering.
in any event i am stokedfor you being ready for thunder,, weather permitting.
make sure you get pics, lol
p.s. i thought i did a big no no. i was playing with photobucket trying to organize a lil bit.
and i got nervouse that the ones i organized would fry the lightshow:facepalm: and switched back.
so far so good. wish me luck
The light strips that I ordered last time are resin incased. They are a little more stiff than the silocone incased ones. I like that style better. The white ones I have are like yours. Will probably replace the resin ones, plus I am seeing some cloudyness in the light strips that I removed. Will keep everyone posted.
You should be good to go with the silocone in the connectors and if you heat shrink the wire splices, you should be just fine.
Do you have any connectors left? I can order them cheap, but shipping from you would be quiker. I figure you probably have a lot left over if you ordered the strip to strip connectors and cut them in half. I would be more than happy to pay for the connectors and shipping if you have some. If not, no biggie, i will get them on order.![]()
