Great to "hear" from you, mrs sasto!!! sasto told me you'd be getting on the forum.

My wife did that a while back, while St Augustine was still a fairly young thread... Only, she did it "behind my back", so to speak. She joined with the username "I'm papa smurf" Do a search on that username and you'll see how she reeled me in... hook, line, and sinker!!! Nlain fell for it, too. Next time we speak, I'll tell you about how she "came clean" with it. She really got me good... If I type it out, though, it will just lack all humor. You'll understand when we talk, or when my wife tells you.

If there are any others willing to join us....please do. We had a relaxing time in St. Augustine and everybody went with the flow. A slow flow at that. The same to be said about this lazy island. Gring your lounge chair and stay awhile! This sure beats whats on TV.

The first mate works at the university. She is only off when the students are. And that's not September.

We're planning to be there around the afternoon of the 16th or, at the latest, the morning of the 17th. Not sure if Michael will be with us or not this trip. I have to make it...I have a net and rods to return!

I am so glad I found this site. We bought our boat at Boat Tree Marina in Sanford on the St. Johns River last Thanksgiving week. We have spent our time learning and familiarizing. Our Maiden journey was to St. Augustine in May. LOVED it. Learned all about mooring balls! We are heading south after Christmas, retiring. Then starting the loop in the spring. I hope we can meet some more folks along the way like we did when we stayed in Jacksonville and St. Augustine. We have a 1983 Carver 3607. I have refinished most of the teak and mahogany, painting the black metal trim in cobalt blue, getting ready to put down new flooring and paint the outside. Can't wait. Hopefully we'll meet soon. We keep our boat at Monroe Harbor Marina in Sanford and visit Captain's Cove (at Boat Tree) on a routine basis. In June, we brought the boat from Sanford to St. Augustine to meet up with a bunch of fellow iBoaters, then made our way down to Daytona Beach. We do this on a yearly basis. We spend the summer in DB and head back to Sanford in the fall.
