Re: Boat I bought to restore
That is the roof of the aft cabin, which also doubles as the base for the captain's chair. It is part of the one piece hull cap.
Progress is moving well. The gimbals are just about rebuilt. new everything.
The motors are almost finished as well, My friend owns a machine shop and is doing the work. I will post pics of the motors once I paint them.
One of my laborers stripped off all the decals and the stripes, and sanded the hull bottom and the gray hull sides. The hull sides are going to be painted blue. I am going to use Epifanes 2 part polyurethane, and use an ablative on the hull bottom.
I've reupholstered the cabin parts and they are ready to go back in. Once they go back in, I can put the motors back in.
Lots on the list.
Will post pics of the motors soon.
Later!
Hey Rob I noticed something in one of your pics that I don't know what it is or where it goes. Theres a pic of the cockpit area facing forward, in the lower right of the pic is a battery, in the center right is a fire extinguisher. What is the fire extinguisher sitting on? What its sitting on looks like it has a sliding glass window, is there a sleeping area below this glass or is it ventilation air to the engine compartment? Thanks for the pics.. I hope to one day have a boat of this size.
