This is an awesome thread with some seriously great steals! Hate to put a damper on this, but you might want to start a thread on how many people ended up burned or with major rebuild headaches when buying a boat under $2000. That will help you guage your chances of coming across one of these gems vs a real PIA.

Re: Boating for less than $2000

picked mine up in march for 1200. it was lake ready, just no bells and whistles. i added a radio, tach, and 12v outlet. for piece of mind i changed water impeller, foot oil, plugs. only thing i had to change was a rectifier because the tach would not work and those do go bad with time. all in all i have about 1400.00 in it. and so far we love it for those cheep weekend outings. only if i could do something about the weather :(.

I forgot to say that my 798 Fiberform Waikiki also came with 6 life/ski jackets, 2 wetsuits, Ski rope, wake board, towable tube, and rope for the tube, and the flag. All for 1800.00

Looks like it needs exhaust to me
Exhaust is complete. Pulled it to fix a leaky gasket and inspect the heads; absolutely spotless, no carbon whatsoever. Newbies who didn't know about the "white anchor", but son-in-law is the owner. He is a heavy equipment mechanic who can do anything it needs if we can get parts. Found OMC manual online and GPS & sonar manuals as well.
