Maybe a pile driving rig???

Possibly, here's a few my wife took.
Notice how calm it is, and off TP at that.

Wow, looks like it was a beautiful day! Wish that we could have made it down.

I like the pic of that ship coming up through the bay!

Interesting overturned rig, wonder how long it will be there and what exactly it is.

Also, I was curious if anyone saw the TMI generators when the came up through the bay to Port Deposit?

Re: Boating the Upper Chesapeake

So, anybody going to be out this weekend? My wife has plans helping her sister prepare for her wedding next weekend so I will be down at the bay and hopefully out on the boat some if it stops raining in the morning like they are calling for. I thought I would be out by myself, but last minute my brother fly in from the west coast, so he and my parents will be down.

Thought about trying to find Arks slip, cruising through the back channel from Havre De Grace to to Turkey Point and maybe anchoring out in Cara's Cove some. We may end up doing some watersports too. Guess time will tell!

We will be monitoring 9 and 16 on the vhf it anyone wants to meet up.

Brandon, when/if it stops raining tomorrow we'll be coming out, should be a nice day if things work out.

We're up for Cara, and we always cruise by Arks slip, people in the marina probably think we are casing the joint :D

By back channel, do you mean the one that runs BEHIND sand isle?

Yep, thats what I meant. I have been wanting to check it out since we talked about it at the raft-up.

I am guessing that it might be a little rough because of the weather so I thought Cara Cove could be a nice calm area. I will try to hail you when I am out sometime if I haven't heard from you yet.

Just hope that rain ends quickly!

Guys, I won't be there on Sunday.
I spent the afternoon today getting the boat back together after the transmission rehab.
She's all fixed now and ready for some fall boating.

There is a small craft advisory today BUT they are calling for 1 footers now.
Here's tidewaters web cam with conditions.

I'm going to wait until noon or so to make our decision. It is still drizzling here in Jarretsville.

We really enjoyed the schuylkill river. Some of our friends suggested it while we were visiting.

We made it out for a couple of hours today. It ended up being fairly nice out and the sun felt great while it was out. Wish I could have had internet access so that I would have seen what you guys were posting. Oh well.

Rob - Glad to hear that you got the boat all back together. We are very much looking forward to the fall boating as well. I finally got a chance to get over to Havre De Grace today and I found "Winter Dream" in her slip at the City Yacht Basin. Now I know where to look for you if I ever make it down there the same time as you!

Scott - Did you make it out today? I tried to hail you a few times between 2 and 3 or so on channels 9 and 16. I left you a message on your cell too just in case my radio isn't transmitting properly. I guess I should do a radio check sometime. Seems like we keep missing each other. Maybe one of these days.

Hope you guys had a good day whatever you ended up doing.

Brandon,
we didn't get out unfortunately, started doing some odds and ends around here and lost track of the time.
I hate missing any opportunity, as the season is winding down. Hope you guys had a blast. Was the weather decent?

It turned out to be pretty nice. The sun was shining for awhile and then every now and then there would be a little cloud cover. For the most part it was very nice. The water from Carpenters Point to Havre De Grace was very calm. We didn't get to explore the back channel from Havre De Grace down behind Sands Island though. Waves we 1' to 2'. The only bad part about it was that my wife wasn't able to make it down with me!

Is anyone planning to get out this weekend?
I've got to run my Silverton a little to check the transmission.
If the weather's decent I might drop the hook for awhile.....

Aiming for Sunday again, but I'm sick as a dog right now.

I am mad I let the day get away from me last Sunday, all nice days are valuable now!

We are going to try and make it out mid afternoon on Sunday as long as the weather holds out. Maybe we can try and meet up again.

Thanks Brandon! I am home again today, I'm lucky my wife is my boss. She turned my alarm clock off this morning as I was trying to get up. She's the best!

BTW, do you guys ever check out Tidewater's webcam? You have to refresh it yourself, bt it's pretty cool.

I didn't know that cam existed. Thanks for posting it. Looks like it takes images every 15 minutes.

I'm going to plan to go out on Sunday- weather permitting. Maybe I'll see you guys out there.

No problem Rob!

We're going to try for Sunday, looks like nice weather. I've only worked at the shop maybe 3 hours this week. I'm going to try and go in tomorrow and see how I feel.
I think a good day on the water will heal what ails me ;)
