Re: calling all lake mead boaters! nevada

Does anyone know of a place that lists the launch ramp slope angles for the ramps that are left at Lake Mead? At TB I had to launch to the West of the ramp where the paving sort of rolls down into the lake. At such a slight incline as the ramp was, I would get water in the cab to float the boat.

Just curious what the slopes are.

At T-Bar the ramp slopes steeper on the felt side going down so you can launch deeper if necessary. They no longer parking on the ramp as in the pics either.

Yes, we launched parallel to your arrows. The problem was not much water there as you know. We put in and out twice with no issues. It might suck with wind out of the east or north.

Don't worry JJ, I get ignored a bunch too...:D

... definitely looking forward to that beer Dan!

I'll pack 2... 1 for you and 1 for me :D (I don't drink at the lake, not that I'm a teatotaler or anything :p)

mz, I've had to launch "across" the ramp at several places to get water deep enough to float the boat. Good to know that's possible at TBar. Last time I launched at Overton the truck was 30-40' out in the water, and I still had to wiggle the boat off. That was right before they closed it down.

Question, once you are beached or anchored for the night, is it ok to enjoy a few beers?(we did) I mean, I was compliant with the 360* light and all and in a cove.....that was a fun time for the 30th anniversary!

As for the deep launch, I wish this-- http://captainslog.janktheproofer.com/trailerextension.htm -- would work for me but not with the surge brake in the TS. I have a couple of other ideas to entertain...;)

Absolutely! It's perfectly OK on the lake as long as you don't have any glass containers. You can have campfires and all the comforts of beach camping.

Must have been a great 30th!

I know how it is with real young ones. We started taking our kids out when they were tiny. My daughter was born in August so she went out with us right away. My son was born in Dec so he was a few months old. They both grew up on the water during their summers and have had the fortune to also grow up not ever knowing what life is like without a boat

Oh yes, it's OK. I've had a couple trips out there where too much whiskey was involved and I'd rather be feeling good instead of hung over. I just made it part of "what I do" to not carry alcohol. Been years since I've had it on the boat and I haven't missed it. Too each their own, I don't hold it against anyone for enjoying a couple while out there and I won't refuse one if one is passed over... :D

OCTOBER!!! There's the problem, get out to the lake and have some fun.

It won't be long until your baby is asking "can we go fishin' this weekend?"!!!!:)

Last day of October was our last outing also. Been too long and can't wait to get out there. Still have some work to do on the boat though...

I got away for a long weekend since it was the end of Spring Break for my kids. We went riding in the Mojave Desert and had a great time. I know by how sore I am

The water side of oil cooler way down low. Bolts to the motor mount.

Why do they always put "stuff that breaks" in places that are next to impossible to reach...
