we are in for a week of mid 20's nights. this can not be in Florida.

Yup.

Was 32.7 here this morning and supposed to drop to the 20s at night several times this week. High today was 55 and supposed to continue that way. Pretty normal for around here and even warmer than it was last year. Still only had one frost so far compared to about a dozen by this time a year ago.

Decision making becomes more difficult... hunt? fish? start preparing the garden?

My sincerest sympathy Tashasdaddy.

-38F windchill today.

My 3 year old and I went toboganning and he'll play for an hour plus outside. (we've got some good outdoor gear) He won't complain so I have to watch carefully that he doesn't freeze exposed skin.

You can always put on another layer of clothes, but there's only so many layers you can take off.

We only got down to 39 this morning and the weather guessers say we'll be in the upper 20s overnight. Not as cold as it is for my friends in Minnie but still darn cold for us Florida folks.

wow, 20*... that'd be a heat wave around here.. started our day at -7* too today....

may i suggest the winterization thread in the adults only sticky at the top of the i/o page for the folks who don't have to winterize...

It was a involuntary muscle response....Temperature is something us snow people tend to be sensitive about. We feel no one else in the world is allowed to comment on cold temps unless you live in the arctic circle or something.

29 degrees here 5" of new snow today winds out of the north east should be getting another 7" of snow this evening as the same low pressure is now backing back towards land and one of the rear times that this next batch of snow is coming from the north west and winds will be gusting 40-50mph

Well, up here in wonderful Vancouver, Canada..it's a balmy 45F...overnight supposed to go down to 44F or so.

So I guess we need to start making jokes about the folks in Florida living in igloos now eh?

You really do not need a winter coat/jacket just dress in layers ...not too tight and you will be fine.

Even though the weather is dropping into the 20's .... chances of a total pipe bursting freeze up are slim.......

I have to confess ......... I have the biggest grin on my face......... It has been snowing here for the last few days but today it warmed up to 19 above ......now if we could kill the wind things would be nice.

I plowed today and will probably have to re-plow tomorrow to clean up the driveway.

I feel for ya, TD. Since moving from Idaho to Texas, when it gets cold here I just tell myself " You've lived and worked in a lot colder weather than this!!!".

We're in the -10 range here. Just got back from sledding with the kids and their friends plus lots of snowmobiling yesterday. We love the snow and cold but it can't snow when it's this cold. I heard it's so cold in Florida the orange crops are threatened.

it is suppose to be like this for atleast a week.

strawberry farmers are freaking. the plants just started to bloom well. the can use sprinklers for a night or two, but more than that, they will drown the plants.

Sorry, Ken..gonna be 28 for around 4 hrs tomorrow night...and we are a few hundred miles South....

But when you get back in April things will be just fine!

Hey, TD, You may have to winterize.....

Make sure there's no water in those tubes!
