Re: Democrates in violation of Logan Act
HHMmm, Wonder why there is not the outcry over Specter going to Syria ?
Specter, R-Pa., said in an interview late Friday that he is planning a trip to the Middle East that will include Israel and Syria. The senator said he and other Republicans are concerned that the administration's policies in the Middle East are not working and that other GOP members may follow in his footsteps.
"I've talked to my Republican colleagues, and there is a disquiet here," Specter said.
Now that were talking about abuse of the laws of the United States, lets go into the door now that it has been opened shall we?
Where is the outrage from the law abiding "right" on dockside, about our rights being slowly taken away .
Why, did the White House circumvent a law passed by Congress, the 1978 Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, which requires intelligence services to obtain search warrants before intercepting international communications inside the United States?
Gonzales came under tough questioning from four of the 10 Republican senators on the Judiciary Committee, including its chairman, Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania.
Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, a conservative Republican, called that argument "very dangerous in terms of its application to the future. When I voted for it, I never envisioned that I was giving to this president or any other president the ability to go around FISA Carte blanche.
Of course we have given up our habeas corpus rights, so we might as well spy on our citizens shouldnt we?
If you set a pot of water to boil, and drop the frog/citizen in once the water's good and hot, the frog/citizen will jump right out again and escape. The right way to boil a frog/citizen is to pop him in the water while it's still cold. The frog/citizen is feeling happy, swimming around in his new cool pool, not a worry in the world. Then gradually... bit-by-bit, start to turn up the heat. Not too fast, mind you - increase the temperature just a fraction at a time, and make sure that the frog/citizen is completely used to the slightly higher temperature before you raise it again. Patiently continue to increase the heat, degree by degree... my point??? This is whats happening to our Constitution, bit by unnoticeable bit, nibbling away so it is almost unnoticeable.
