I have a Alpha I Gen II stern drive. I need to replace the drive bellows. Do I need to remove the gimbal housing to do this? The bellows was torn when I removed the stern drive.

Gimbal housing no, bellhousing yes, to a point. You have to remove the pivot pins and pull the top of the bellhousing out so you can get the old bellows out, and the new one back in. No need to remove the shift cable or exhaust bellows to do the ujoint bellows.
Your only problem will be that small hose going to the through housing fitting for the gear lube reservoir if you have the plastic one. They break very easily after they get so old. Not expensive if the break, but what a pain in the butt. Just a seriously poor design.

OK. I have not seen that tube yet except the one for the speedo. As far as the pivot points, any suggestion to move the bellow housing? Right now it is cocked to the left and it won't move so I can get to the left side pivot point.

@Don - Is the hose you were talking about in this drawing?

Nope, thats the speedometer hose. The one I am referring to runs just above the shift cable bellows.

Any idea what size the star-drive needs to be to remove the pivot points? Is there a special tool I should get?

Ayuh,....It should take a 1/2" allen key, not a torx socket...

it is not an allen. It is for sure a torx or something similar. The side pivot points on the bell housing looks like a torx, not an allen key.

Your looking at the outer part look into the center of the pin I did the same thing because the Allen was filled with some grease
