Hey everyone ! Seeing as my MFG is pretty much complete .. I guess it,s about time to start something new . Me and my son in law Chris have decided to fix up his old 1973 Glassmaster 16.5 ft tri-hull. We did some pre-iboats repairs on it 2 yrs ago . Now that you guys have led me in the right direction with all of the awesome help here maybe this time we will do a much better job . Anyway here is the boat .

We decided to build a make shift cover over it to get out of the Fla sun . Just some stuff I had laying around . I have some old Masonite at work I will screw on top of the framing and then I will fasten a tarp over that . Chris wanted to put it in the garage but well you know that would mean the MFG would be out doors . :nono:

We plan on replacing the deck/stringers/transom . Maybe paint the cap . We are not shooting for pretty but we want to put the 85 Force on there so it must be sound ..This will be our fishing/boat for running around in the creeks . If it gets scratched and beat up no big deal the fish wont mind ! We closed in the bow for a fishing deck and this is still very solid .

I am sure we will need some advice along the way so any help will be appreciated ..
Later SP..

Nice project, and you know your way around it already....

Look like pretty good seats & bases, maybe just some new vinyl.

Glassmaster IN the MFG garage? I DON'T THINK SO... What was he thinking?

Besides, didn't he see your sign? :watermelon:

Mind if I tag along? I kind of a tri hull fan, and would love to watch your high quality work on this one.

Yep , he knows better but I can,t blame him for trying .. I did pull the MFG out so we could change the brake pads and rotors on his Toyota though . I hate doing stuff like that in the grass ..
Climbing aboard...
The more the merrier Troop !

Tri-hulls make great fishing boats TC . Very stable and don't draw much water . Very open feel . Thats why we chose to rebuild the Glassmaster instead of the Legend . They both have about the same amount of work on them to make seaworthy ..
Following along also. Looking forward to expanding my horizons.
Welcome aboard lokonn ! I'm not sure if I can help expand any horizons but one thing for sure after all the grub I put away this holiday weekend I'm gunna have to expand my britches ! :p:pizza::hungry::usa2:

How about this for a quicky o/b stand .. I just need to tie a couple cinder block on the back side for some counter weight . The tub has a hose bib under it to drain the water ..

Not sure what we will do with the rude yet ..
You can see here where our last patch stopped . Promise not to give to much grief when we open the deck up and you see our pre-iboats stringer band aid installation . Chris wants to cut the cap at the splash instead of removing the whole cap . I am kinda with him on that . The rest of the deck should be easy access ..

Even before iboats as you can see with my fancy arched storage opening I had the knack for style ! :eyebrows::pound:

Well you certainly have the glass & paint work down to hide a splashwell cut instead of a de-cap.

Anyone with the proper upbringing can clearly see that you were following the ancient Roman philosophy of...if two arches are good... three are better.

Permission granted GT ! I don't think we have met the weight limit yet ! :)
Not much action on this tub yet . We have just about completed the temp shelter . With me working days and Chris working night shift it's been slow going . Hopefully this weekend we can get something done ..
Our big blue stores down here do not carry the Arauco ply in stock . What would be the next best thing for the transom and stringers ?

Any exterior grade plywood will do. If your stringers are indeed plywood of course.

Yep^^^...
Even if they have surface voids, you could just pre-fill them with some PB, before glassing them over...

How tall are the stringers at the highest point?

Not sure yet on the height till I dig into it . I need to get the hull supported first before the itchy stuff starts ..
Just put the tarp on the temp shelter just need a few braces and that part will be good to go ..

SP-BBE ... ...Kinda ..

Chris had to work all weekend but we did manage to get it off the trailer and on the cart . Almost got it all cradled up but ran out of 2x's ..
The GM sure is much heavier than the MFG ..
