Glad you got it behind you, but this has me scared...



My g/f has done this to me. Most of "our" friends, were my friends prior to her or are people we have met together. When we have disagreements, she likes to "vent" to our friends and this creates issues with our friends, as well as w/ in our relationship. :blue:

I now understand how this is, billyman. As you can see by the replies, take the high ground. I found the best way to deal with it....is not bring her up around your mutual friends. I have a few here on iboats. I have spoke to them. They are wise, understanding, and don't take sides.

She can't let it go because she still loves you. She can apparently only show you venom and anger, though. You've got Baccala back!!! That's awesome.

In so far as your relationship with Kimmy... Let all that comes from you be civil, kind, and compassionate. You're more than strong enough and good enough a person to do that. Just be the "rockstar" you always are. Let the community always see the same sasto they've always known and loved. No more hurtful words or thoughts. The example will be seen by all and eventually reciprocated by her. She's not as strong as you. She won't get over obstacles and perceived barriers as you will. One of these days she's going to deeply regret certain thoughts, words, and actions. When that time comes, let her know how long ago you forgave her.

We'll talk more about this face to face if you want. You also know you can call me any time, day or night.

Funny you mention that... I believe I can safely speak for all of us when I say, "Neither do we!!!" I can certainly say that when I "speak" to sasto (and certain others), the filter is turned off... Not needed.

Thanks for the encouraging and kind words, my friend, veritas honus. I only had 2 concerns. The first was to keep alive the spirit of Baccala. My ex was good friends with the people that gave her to me. She even went as far as to offer the boat back to them for $3000. They were incensed! Unfortunately they have no contact with her anymore.


I don't mind doing some venting here. A man needs to sometimes, and I refuse to do it around the locals. Some of our mutual friends still hear her rants.....somewhat. They just tell they don't want to hear a word from her about me. I'm not in love with her, but I still love her. I don't want to see her or talk to her. I go way out of my way to avoid her. The only contact I have is a prayer for her.

I hope you and Art get to meet someday. I have the utmost respect for both of you. You two are a fine example of a "real man".

I still have the light!!! Thanks for the reminder, James, I liked that idea.

I would like to do something else for the folks that gave her to me. That light with a "giggly hula girl" would mean alot to them.
