Thanks John, be a little while longer now before I find out...did a boo boo and 'literally' have a deck-load of paint to remove so I can finish glassing the deck in{said as he beats his head against the wall}. Self inflicted-you'd think I'd learn

I was kinda wondering on that whole painting the deck thing. I'm assuming someone told you that it would mess up the bond between the resin and the wood?

Sad thing is EZ, I thought about posting for thoughts beforehand, doh, back to cadet status I suppose...space cadet that is! Par for the course considering everything up to now went without any hitch. Ondarvr set me straight btw.

Hey even your screw-ups look good!Love the black trim around the dash plates!!!And the radio Does look a lot better than the trophy plac you had it in before,lol.

Thanks Tom {8Tracker}, that trim is door{auto} edge trim/protector, slides on and has a small bead of adhesive in the 'crease?" Like a bass fisherman I threw that other mount back,lol........Kenny


Edit: btw, I plan on using similar trim around all the 'open' edges of glass, PO had something self adhereing that I need to get the remains off first tho. Need to quit for while with so much cosmetic stuff and get back to the real meat & potatoes

Thanks Red, can't wait to get 'er out there...I've had previous tubs out as late as Nov. 14th{15th is opening of deer season }here in Michigan. Now if I quit screwing up as I go, just might still make it this year...Thanks for peekin in!

12 hours over 2 days just to get the deck back to wood...incase anyone missed it, do not{repeat} DO NOT paint the deck until AFTER it is glassed in...could of saved myself a ton of work if only I would of asked first. Still not complete btw, need to clean up the surrounding glass for bonding... To add pain to the misery, the grinder bit me on the finger that I lost part of to a tablesaw moons ago...and some wonder why I partake in a beer now & then...{sigh} if only everyone was as accident prone as me...tra la la la lah...ooh look at the pretty red color{shakes head in disgust}

Kenny are you sure we are not working on the same boat 1 step forward 6 steps back . I see you got the paint issue prettywell tackled . I also got past my recent paint issues and am moving forward .

Did you glass the bottom part of the deck? Or are you only glassing the top?
