Re: hull extension in progress with picks
Re: hull extension in progress with picks
I would like this thread to be posted in the finished project section one day, as a clean, step by step manual to stretching a boat, OOPS style.
To reduce the number of non-instructional post in this thread, I removed mine. My post were more of the, I hope, motivational, spirit building type for OOPS the person. They would have little value for anyone besides OOPS who would like to do something like this themselves, so I removed them.
One thing I noticed when going through my post, was that you have many post, of exactly the type of post here that you now say shouldn't be here. When the project slows down, people post to keep it on the front pages of the rebuild section, sometimes constructively, sometimes not. But it has kept this thread alive, when so many others have slid onto the depths of the deep blue.
Give the new comers some slack Erik, this thread is infectious, and it is hard not to post in it. I don't disagree with you, on the contrary, I do agree, 100%. I would also like to see the non “OOPS stretch” comments moved to the OOPS Crew thread.

But it has become an international project, with a huge team of supporters. For good, or bad, it is no longer a small closed circle of friends.
Just because you have less time to post, don't expect all others to stop also just so you don't have to wade through things, that don't interest you?
Re: hull extension in progress with picks
Hey guys -
As much as I like the level of friendliness around here, could you guys confine topics and comments not related to this thread to PMs or other threads?
Oops has a great story going here with almost every post adding more information, commenting on the build, etc. and it seems a shame to post unrelated stuff when it adds to the amount of posts newcomers have to sort through to read this thread. It's already of epic length anyway.
You might want to check out dockside chat for a lot of friendly non boat conversation... Oops lives there too
And of course, Oops may feel differently about this, and it's his thread, so....
Erik
PS: I'm not posting much lately, but I still track this thread, and I'm still working on my new space for boat building... I'll start posting more when I start my build. If you want a comment on something (for some reason) from me, feel free to PM.
