In post 6 the pic shows some of the rocker nuts are not at about same position a the others, this is why I mentioned itwhen you said: All the rocker nuts should go down the same amount; you meen 0 lash + 3/ or 27 nm?
I wonder if you have a mix bag of parts?but anyway when i bought this motor it was already disassembled and lifter were in position, so i don't know ( i doubt) that old owner did this bfore disassembling so i'm not sure he put is same position. anyway
I'm in the line in armonic balance shaftAyuh,...... That cylinder doesn't appear to be at Tdc,......
Ithanks. s this Not adjustable right? As mention in the manualwith non-adjustable valve train on the 4.3, just snug up each of the rocker fulcrums to the stop location on the stud. then torque to 20 ft-lb (27 Nm)
you get a better torque reading if each cylinder is brought up to TDC on its own. however with non-adjustable, I just zip them on with the electric burp gun.
No now all lifter are out in oil tank. In the video i'm workin only on one lifter. In post 6 the pic shows some of the rocker nuts are not at about same position a the others, this is why I mentioned it
If not all had been torqued to 27nm then that also would be the reason
I'm wondering if some of the lifters are hanging up inside or on outside in the bores.

How long are the push rods?
I bought this motor used and those are the bolt found inside. Do you think they are wrong? They are for sure not self locking . They have the not loosening part on botton (like washer) similar to the one in the pictureAs we all know something is wrong. The adjustable rocker will have self locking rocker nuts and you will not be able to tighten them with your fingers.
Alldodge good point on the self locking nuts. All of those should be replaced for the adjustment to hold.
Yes, so still not clear if mine will go 27 nm (so this bolt could be ok) or 0 lash + 3/4 so this bolt for sure are not okThose are torque to spec, there not self locking
Thanks this make me happyWith the nuts you have it's torque to 27 and your done
After i sow previous msg i was happy, now i'm confused againwith the old style adjustable you have to do the zero lash and either 3/4ths or 1 turn depending on whose spec you are using.
