Currently, as I am 16, I do odd jobs, and buy/resell jon boats, and do a little work on outboards for fellers I know, that don't like to, or have the aptitude to turn wrenches. I am going to be applying at a local marina here in a week or so. Eventually, I am giving a good bit of thought to the US Navy, if it still exists in 4 years, if you catch my drift, and after that I would like to be a welder/metal fabricator in a custom aluminum boat shop (not talking about the common tin boat companies, but instead the Ocean going plate alloy common in the Pacific Northwest - 20 - 40 feet or so). Only problem is, I wish to stay in the southeast, and down here, fiberglass is still popular, with nobody looking at the more advantageous plate alloy boats.
Hiya, My first post on the forum..
Up till last June, I owned and drove a Concrete Mixer, but due to the collapse of the construction business over here in Scotland, had to give it up and go to work for a guy, driving one of his trucks....."Books in" we call it.....then he went out of business...so...three weeks ago, I landed a superb job as a "Waterways Operative" working on the Forth and Clyde canal, assisting narrow boat, yachts etc etc, transit from Grangemouth on the east coast, to Bowling, near Glasgow on the west coast, and I absolutely love it, its like getting paid to do my hobby.... 4 days on, 4 days off....no more sitting in 5 lanes of traffic at a standstill...money is rubbish tho', but you cant have everything...
I'm looking forward to LOTS more time spent on here ...
