Re: Man vs. Boat (season 1, episode 5).
Right on sounds like your moving right along, just think when you are done you will be an old pro . The donor boat was a real score. I never noticed what you paid for it. I am debating on upgrading my drive train and am looking as to what a donor would be worth. I know up here I can't get much. They want 2 grand for a hull with no drive train and trailer. Seems all the scores are south of the border. I only paid 2 for mine and run it a season and could have run it another 2-3 and maybe longer before the floor would have gotten soft. I was offered 2500 on the weekend for my drivetrain but I told my friend he could have the 3.0 for 1300 and I can regear the outdrive top end to match what I decide to use for a motor. I don't imagine it is any harder then the rear ends I have set up. He is building a houseboat . So I will have more then one winter to decide whether to upgrade or not and what I sell him. I wish you could strip down a car as easy as a boat drivetrain. Maybe the boat goes back together the same for originality. I know with the gps mine was running along at 39 miles an hr with 4 on board, that is fast enough for me. But I always been a sleeper type of guy be it in my cars and I like to build stuff and might just build something for it..hmmmmmm a sleeper on the head pond would **** alot of boaters off.
keep up the enthusiasm and videos I enjoy your show

Re: Man vs. Boat (season 1, episode 5).
Just got back in from the shop... Got a lot done this weekend.
I have already learned a TON in this process. 6 weeks ago I did not even the difference between a stringer and merc. Believe it or not, I am having fun.... That was the goal when I started this process; A long way to go, but like old saying goes...You have to eat the elephant one bite at a time.
