Got some good progress there Stephen. That''s a good idea using the bed liner for the side trays. I tucked that one in the back of my head for the future.

Wow you are really moving along quickly on that boat and it is looking great. I have a question though. What was the problem with semi gloss? I was wanting to use that on my project.

lOL, there wasn't a problem with it other than the boss (my wife) said it wasn't shiny enough. To be fair to her it wasn't as shiny as I would have liked either, but that may have been taken care of with a coat of wax too.

You're moving right along, looks great! I really like that blue too, is that going to be the topside color too?

Yes top side is going to be royal blue also. Got a second coat on the consoles, splash well, and the piece in the bow area that the front seats sit on ( whatever it is called). I'm hoping to get Gluvit down this week, and the rest of the top side painting done, then flotation in and the deck down. Then I'll feel like I am really making progress. If only work didn't keep getting in the way.

Ok, now I feel stupid. Got the deck in just fine today and of course couldn't wait for the nautilex to arrive to see how some of the interior will look. I realized that I had taken pictures of just about everything before I removed things, but didn't take a picture from underneath to show how the consoles are attached to the side of the boat. Would anyone out there be willing to post a snap showing how they are attached? I would really appreciate it.

Looking real nice Stephen, I did the a same as EZ, used a wider angle in order to bring the consoles up to the top of the gunwal, that way the water runs off instead of into the boat.
PS. Darcy still has the bow cushions and I think he will part with them, but the freight may be as much from Canada to Tx, as having a set made.

Well, progress for this weekend - Got the decking in and riveted, although I took EZ's idea and used the self tapping colored decking screws along the outside edges since the rivets didn't seem to want to seat properly. The rivets worked fine everywhere else. Now just have to wait for my Nautolex to arrive before I can get everything else put back in. I put the splash well back in also and 5200'd the joint between it and the transom. Also got the inside of the boat painted today. Here are a couple of pictures of the progress.

Glen, do you know how much Darcy wants for the cushions? Maybe I can find out what the shipping would be and make a decision on it. Thanks in advance.

She looks good, Stephen. Hope the blue and Texas sun get along. Might be hot to the touch. What color Nautolex are you using.

Re: My new/old 1971 Starcraft SS

I've ordered Shark Gray. The Seats, Cushions, interior Vinyl is all going to be be white so that should help some with the heat. Actually it was pretty much a "political" decision as to the color for the boat. Showed my wife a lot of pictures of boats and how they have been painted from the threads here on iboats. My original intention was to keep the hull white, but she liked the blue stripe and the dark blue. She has been pretty supportive with the boat, but with times of "how come this is costing more than you said?" So doing my best to keep the boss happy. She is a graphic designer so very much into colors etc.... The good thing is that Saturday she actually told me that she is getting excited about the boat.
