Hey Jon,
I gotta agree with one of the previous suggestions of mounting the fuel tank in the bow area, and you can fab up a couple of battery trays in the back, and cover them up with a minimalist splashwell...you will still have room left in nooks and crannies for all of you safety gear and necessities, however, like you said, a 13 foot boat doesn't leave a lot of room to spare...
This is an extreme idea, and you are welcome to hit me over the head if it is too hairbrained, but have you thought of just eliminating or even making the rear facing seats removable...put em in when you are going with the full crew, leave em out for a two person excursion...
Finally, one more thought...the lack of space when the seats are laid flat, is really not that big a deal, since, if and when you need access to the rear compartment, you just fold them up...???
Again, just thinking out loud, and Yes, I know, it usually gets me in trouble...:redface:
Have fun figuring out this puzzle...something will come to ya...I'll be watching and waiting to see what the final plan is...
