Wow.... I wonder how big the fish that hit him actually was in size? They apparently can jump upwards of 10ft in the air and grow to a size of around 40lbs. OUCH!!

TD, were they boat passengers or skiing/tubing?

I've never heard of anything like that until these forums but then again, most places I've been in Canada our fish stay under the water.

Thank goodness that sturgeon can't jump 10ft in the air. That's 660 lbs of fish that would do serious damage.

I don't know. Labor Day weekend I almost hit a fish at about 40mph when it jumped up in front of me. Easily 3-4 feet long. I figure it was either a small Sturgeon or a large Northern.

Edit:That was on Lake Winnebago. Sturgeon or Northern are about the only fish that get that big around there.

I guess a sauce gun being thrown into someones face is better than a fish breaking ones face :D

Back in the early 70's when I was a teen, I did a lot of water skiing on the Ohio River. My dad was making a wide sweeping turn with me being sling shot around. I don't know what happened, but I went end over end and became submerged for a few seconds. I came up out of the water just a screaming. Dad thought I had really broken something this time. He pulled me into the boat and blood was gushing down my leg. Then he noticed that something was in my swimming trunks moving around. It sure wasn't my manhood at that time,,,,,,,it was a small catfish about 6" long and it was stabbing me with his spines/fins. Most painful event in my life at that time. I still have trouble dealing with catfish when I hook them. It seem like it took forever to heal.

Those Asian carp are such a nuisance, this will soon become too common a story to even publish. Have you all seen the video's of those things jumping?
